00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. We do have a relentless
00:05easterly wind over the next few days delivering more clouds from time to time and some lower
00:10temperatures are going to feel cool in that breeze. Overnight tonight, you can see that
00:13cloud rolling in across the central belt of Scotland, border regions, Northumberland.
00:19Another batch of cloud through the early hours of Friday morning moves across East Anglia,
00:23the Midlands, central southern England. Many areas will be dry, but some murky conditions
00:28across the far north of Scotland. Lowest temperatures will be the glens of Scotland,
00:32but certainly a windy start to the day across most parts, gusty over the hills. Through
00:38the morning on Friday then, any cloud will tend to fade away across Scotland and northern
00:43England, whereas towards the south, we will see a little bit of showery rain as this cloud
00:48moves towards more western areas. Brightest skies then, mid Wales, the Midlands, northwards
00:53and that's where we'll see the highest temperatures, particularly towards the west in Shelter,
00:57feeling cool along this east coast. Look at this temperature, only 12 or 13 degrees
01:01Celsius. And again, it will be a windy day with some gustiness, particularly over the
01:06hills and mountains through Friday night and into the weekend and not a lot of change.
01:12We lose the dampness towards the southwest. We gain more cloud towards the east. And again,
01:17that wind will continue through the early hours of the morning into Saturday morning.
01:23So through the weekend, we really are chasing cloud. That cloud will be low and misty across
01:27the north as well as the east, particularly along the coast. Cloudiness further south
01:31across England and Wales, but there will be holes in that cloud through Saturday, allowing
01:35for some sunshine to come through. So through Saturday morning, we watch as the cloud again
01:40could produce the odd showery burst through the day, again across the Midlands as well
01:44as Wales, perhaps even up towards the northwest of England for a time. Brightest skies again
01:49with Scotland and Northern Ireland, a bit more cloud around towards the east and temperatures
01:53typically around average for this time of year. But as I said earlier, it will be gusty
01:57over the hills. Here's your broader picture through the weekend. Low pressure firmly in
02:02charge across Iberia as well as France, keeping things unsettled here. High pressure towards
02:06the north, a squeeze on the isobars and that easterly wind through the weekend. We could
02:11even see some showery rain through Saturday night across the far southeast of England.
02:15Now notice through Sunday and into Monday, we lose the breeze, but also we see those
02:20temperatures fall even further. So a cooler feel to things as we head into next week.
02:25I'll see you later.
