00:00Hello there. Welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Over the next few days we inherit
00:05an easterly wind, so feeling cooler particularly on the eastern side of the country. Backtrack to
00:10Tuesday evening, one or two hefty showers for central southern England, the Midlands, Wales,
00:14the West Country. Any showers across the far northwest of Scotland will tend to fade away
00:18and under some clearer skies across the northern half of the UK, temperatures will fall. It's going
00:23to be a chilly night with some patchy mist and fog. In the countryside we could see a zero minus
00:29one across the glens of Scotland's shelter spots of Northern Ireland. More cloud across England
00:33and Wales and again one or two showers perhaps still lurking but most places will have a dry
00:38end to the night. So through Wednesday morning you can see this high, this low cloud just close
00:44to the east coast of Scotland, North East England moving up towards the Northern Isles. Elsewhere
00:49it's a fine day, a relatively warm day with some sunshine. However through the afternoon the cloud
00:55will build across the western side of the country and we could see some isolated showers but they
00:59could turn heavy in places. Elsewhere it's dry, it's fine, high temperatures towards the west,
01:05sheltered from this easterly wind which will pick up a little strength across East Anglia as well as
01:09the coastline of Lincolnshire as well as Yorkshire. So values in land 17, 18, 19 Celsius along this
01:16east coast though 13 to 15 Celsius. Through Wednesday evening and overnight we watch as this
01:22high, this low cloud just moves towards Aberdeenshire, the far north east of Scotland as well as the
01:27Northern Isles. Elsewhere the winds will pick up a little strength across England and Wales again
01:32towards the east. We'll see the lowest temperatures as we head into Thursday where it will turn rather
01:37chilly. Before that though many areas seeing a dry night, a clear night and temperatures typically
01:43again the low single figures with a touch of frost across the glens of Scotland. So that's the picture
01:48on Thursday. Through Thursday we'll see the winds pick up even further. High pressure centred across
01:55Scandinavia so we're inheriting this wind coming in from the North Sea. Sea surface temperatures
02:00through Thursday 6, 7, 8 degrees Celsius, 9 or 10 towards the south so a cool breeze coming off a
02:06cool sea and quite a breeze, a brisk wind there as well. Elsewhere through Thursday the best of any
02:13sunshine and the warmest conditions will be across central and western areas although the cloud
02:18could build through the day most places will be dry and temperatures typically through the afternoon
02:23coming in the low teens along this eastern side here. Elsewhere typically around 14 or 15 Celsius
02:30but in shelter towards the south and southwest we could see a 16 or 17. So it's worth noting it is
02:36going to turn cooler on this eastern strip but all in all some fine weather with some sunshine.
02:41Wherever you are we'll keep you updated at the Met Office on all our social media channels and I'll
02:46see you later. Bye-bye.
