00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Prevailing winds will
00:04come in from the east over the next few days, picking up some strength and some cooler air.
00:09For the time being, lighter breezes across many parts of the country, more cloud just
00:13coming in across the western side of Northern Ireland and some har effecting the Northern
00:18Isles as well as the eastern side of Scotland. Low cloud across many areas towards the west,
00:23mist and fog patches, but mostly under some starry skies, temperatures falling quite quickly.
00:28So expect some pockets of frost as we head into tomorrow morning and even some patchy
00:32mist and fog in places. However, Thursday will dawn bright for many, it will be a chilly
00:38one. Through the morning, not a lot of change, the cloud comes and goes, but notice the wind
00:44will pick up a little bit of strength through the afternoon and what that means, it's going
00:47to feel cooler along this east coast despite the fact we will see some sunshine. The cloud
00:52will come and go further west, most places though will remain dry and in shelter towards
00:57the west, temperatures will again reach the mid, perhaps even the high teens towards the
01:02south west of the country. So that's the picture on Thursday afternoon, through Thursday evening
01:08and overnight, not a lot of change really and again we could see some pockets of frost
01:13as temperatures dip down close to freezing in the countryside. However, more cloud just
01:17encroaches across eastern counters of England, South East Scotland and look at that wind,
01:22it picks up further strength, dragging in that cooler air from a cool North Sea. Always
01:27more cloud then towards the south as well, so a cloudier picture as we head into Friday.
01:33Friday morning, some brighter skies to start the day, a little bit of chilliness in the
01:37air, particularly where we've seen clearer skies overnight towards the west, but you'll
01:41see some sunshine here. Thicker cloud just moves in across England and Wales and even
01:46a little bit of showery rain and as that wind blows over the mountains and the hills, it
01:51will turn gusty here, particularly towards the west, but that's where the highest temperatures
01:55will be, coming in around 15 or 16 degrees Celsius. So, cooler along the east coast on
02:02Friday, warmest conditions further west, more clouds across England and Wales. Low pressure
02:07remains in charge to the south of the UK, high pressure towards the north, in between
02:11a squeeze on the ice bars through into the weekend and slowly this wind from the east
02:17will drag in some cooler conditions, particularly across the northern half of the UK. Perhaps
02:22more cloud from time to time across southern counties, in between we will see some sunshine
02:27and temperatures typically around average for this time of year, although it will be
02:30cooler towards the east. If you want updates, check out our social media platforms and I'll
02:35see you later.
