00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. High pressure firmly
00:04in charge across England and Wales over the next few days, with Scotland sitting towards
00:08the north of this high pressure system, which means a stronger wind delivering more clouds
00:13and perhaps some slightly less cold air. But it's going to be a severe frost across many
00:17areas, temperatures across England and Wales dipping down to around minus four degrees
00:20Celsius in places even lower in the countryside. And watch out for some patchy fog as well.
00:25A bit of a frost to start the day for eastern parts of Scotland. It'll be pockets of frost
00:29here rather than the widespread effect we're seeing across England and Wales. And milder
00:33conditions just coming in with a keen breeze across the north and the west of Scotland.
00:37More clouds for Northern Ireland, but you can see where the brightest weather will be.
00:40Eastern counties, the midlands, central southern England, eastern Scotland from time to time.
00:44Temperatures then typically coming in around seven, eight, nine degrees Celsius, mildest
00:48towards the northwest setting the scene for the weekend. And again, a further showery
00:52burst of rain can't be ruled out across the north and the west of Scotland into the weekend,
00:56again with that brisk breeze. And then that cloud slowly lowers even further with more
01:00in the way of rain and drizzle as we head through Saturday across this part of the country.
01:05Elsewhere, cloudier skies on Saturday, a chilly start, a patchy frost, not a lot of change.
01:11There will be some broken clouds allowing some brighter skies from time to time, but
01:15always the strongest winds will be across the far northwest of Scotland and the chance
01:20of some rain and drizzle, particularly over the western hills and mountains. Wherever
01:24you are, whatever you're doing, take care and you can always join us on social media
01:28where we will keep you updated.
