00:00Hello there and welcome to your weather update for Tuesday.

00:05Here are your headlines.

00:06Still a lot of cloud plaguing the country.

00:08Some brighter breaks and a few showers lurking towards the far north of Scotland.

00:12Elsewhere it's a dry day.

00:14That cloud very thick though but there are some breaks allowing some brighter moments to come through.

00:19Particularly for Wales.

00:20Perhaps even some holes in the cloud further north and east.

00:23A brisk breeze towards the west country as well as Northern Ireland.

00:27And here temperatures holding up slightly higher than elsewhere in the country.

00:31It's going to be a chilly old day under that blanket of cloud.

00:35However the cloud will tend to erode and break up through this evening.

00:39Across some parts of the country allowing for some starry skies.

00:43And with that temperatures are going to plummet.

00:45A fairly widespread frost colder than recent nights.

00:49And that's again away from the western periphery of the country.

00:52Certainly for Northern Ireland.

00:53Southwest Wales as well as the west country.

00:55Where that keen breeze will mix up the air a little bit.

00:58Elsewhere it's a cold start to the day.

01:00Frosty as well.

01:02But through Wednesday the prospect of some brighter skies.

01:05If not some sunshine.

01:07Not the case further west.

01:09Cloud will slowly push in with some outbreaks of rain.

01:11That rain pushing steadily towards Scotland.

01:14Clipping the northern part of England as well as west Wales.

01:17Where we'll see some showery bursts and snow over the higher ground of Scotland.

01:21Temperatures then again will be around average.

01:24If not a bit below towards the east.

01:26Here's your outlook through Thursday.

01:28Things turn steadily milder through Thursday.

01:31A keen breeze.

01:32Outbreaks of rain coming and going.

01:34Before colder air slowly pushes in from the north.

01:37As we head through the latter part of Christmas Eve.

01:39And into Christmas Day.

01:41And that's where we'll see the highest chance of perhaps some snow showers.

01:44Across the far north east of Scotland.
