00:00Hello there, welcome to a weather update from the Met Office. A band of rain will track
00:04northwards through Friday across England and Wales, reaching the southern part of Scotland
00:10through evening time. On its northern edge, we could even see some snow above around 300-400
00:14metres with showers to follow. But through this evening, still cold across central and
00:18northern areas of Scotland, and that cold wind bringing with it some wintry showers.
00:22There's going to be a frost inland as well. More clouds and a few showers just clipping
00:26the east of Scotland, Northern Ireland, and low cloud continues across England and Wales.
00:31Poor visibility over the high routes as rain arrives across the southwest. And this rain
00:35with some strong winds could turn heavy through the early hours of the morning. Still mild
00:40to start the day in the south though, but it will be wet. So let's first of all pick
00:44up on those showers across Scotland. Across the far north of Scotland, a mix of rain and
00:48snow, streaming down towards the far north of the mainland. But we'll see some brighter
00:53skies emerging here after a frosty start. Always more clouds further south, a few showers
00:58running in across Northern Ireland, mostly cloudy here, and a murky start there across
01:02England and Wales. But let's pick up on that rain now. So through the early hours of the
01:06morning, with that strong wind, the rain will be across Wales, the southwest Midlands, down
01:11towards the southeast of England. So some tricky driving conditions with some heavy
01:15pulses likely, and even some surface water, strong winds causing poor visibility. So through
01:21the morning, you can see this rain is tracking northwards. So by around late morning, it
01:26will have arrived across Northern Ireland, as well as East Anglia, the Midlands seeing
01:30a lot of rain. And by the afternoon, that rain covering much of Northern England. Behind
01:34it, we'll see some sunshine, a blustery breeze and one or two showers ahead of it. Yes, some
01:39brighter skies for central and northern areas of Scotland, but also some wintry showers.
01:43So by around evening time, you can see the rain slowly encroaching across southern counties
01:48of Scotland, hanging on to that wet weather across Northern Ireland and Northern England,
01:53and some clearer skies to end the day towards the southwest, where it will be mild. Yes,
01:57a strong wind, but even so 12 or 13 degrees Celsius. So that's a picture on Friday afternoon
02:04through Friday evening. The rain stalls across Scotland again, we'll see some snow above around
02:09three, four hundred meters towards the south. Yes, some showers to start Christmas Eve,
02:14but also some clearer skies. And this wet weather becomes confined to the far north
02:18through the first part of Christmas Eve, with further showers moving in through the day on
02:23Saturday further west. So some showery bits and pieces through Saturday, some brighter skies
02:28across central and eastern areas of England. And those showers again will be heavy towards the
02:32northwest. So here's your city's list for Christmas Eve. You can see rain in the north,
02:38showers in the west, but brighter further south and east as temperatures rise to around
02:4311 or 12 degrees Celsius. And here's your summary for the Christmas weekend. Bye-bye.
