00:00Hello there, welcome to your afternoon update this Tuesday. Weather-wise through
00:04the next 24 hours low pressure firmly in charge towards the northwest of the
00:08country and what that means still a lot of showers here and gales particularly
00:13towards the coast. Further south we can see weather fronts skirting in from the
00:18Atlantic bringing outbreaks of rain, rain clearing quite quickly so like today
00:23tomorrow we will again see some brighter skies as the rain clears towards the
00:27east. However further north and west tomorrow we'll see more in the way of
00:32showers there'll be frequent and frequent bursts particularly towards
00:36more western areas. So through this afternoon it's bright across eastern
00:40Scotland, shelter spots of Northern Ireland, England and Wales. A few showers
00:43running in across Wales but further north frequent bursts, strong winds, gales
00:48particularly across the Western Isles and even with these showers they could
00:53be heavy with the odd rumble of thunder and a strike of lightning across the far
00:57northwest. So temperatures through the afternoon not as high as they have been
01:01through the last 24 hours 8 to 11 degrees Celsius. Through this evening and
01:06overnight clearer skies at first towards more eastern and southeastern areas
01:09where we could even see a touch of frost and even the odd fog patch but an area
01:13of cloud and rain arrives across England and Wales from the west and further
01:17showers will gather together producing some wet weather through the night
01:21across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Watch out for severe gales for a time
01:25across the far northwest. Under clearer skies across the far east that's where
01:29we see the lowest temperatures. First thing then on Wednesday morning is rain
01:33clearing down towards the southeast so what that means rush hour you could see
01:37some wet weather for an hour or so. Further showers likely they're going to
01:41be widespread across Scotland, Northern Ireland, clipping the far north of
01:44England. Again some heavy ones are likely with some really strong winds
01:48particularly across the northwestern quadrant of Scotland. Temperatures then
01:52through the afternoon coming in typically around single figures in the
01:56north 10 or 11 further south. Further showers are likely as we head through
02:00Wednesday evening and another system just tracks in across the central sway
02:04of the country into Thursday and what that means another unsettled day on
02:08Thursday still windy particularly towards the north as well as the west
02:11and into Friday things turn a bit colder across the far north. Bye bye.
