00:00Through Thursday it's sunshine and showers across England and Wales but
00:04more heavy rain across Western Scotland sliding down towards Northern Ireland a
00:09few showers across eastern Scotland. Before that though let's have a look at
00:12the bigger picture. There's a rain warning in force across eastern counties
00:16central southern England through Wednesday night and into Thursday
00:19morning. This is an active cold front so expect some heavy pulses of rain,
00:23problems on the roads, surface water issues and poor visibility with some
00:27driving winds. At the same time through Thursday this occlusion here again
00:32delivers more cloud and further spells of heavy rain and some stronger winds
00:37across central and northern areas of Scotland but the whole of the UK
00:40underneath this low-pressure system hence the reason why showers will be
00:45never too far away. Here's that heavy rain through Wednesday evening and
00:49overnight only slowly clearing some strong winds particularly along the
00:53channel there so poor visibility with a lot of rain and spray on the roads. At
00:59the same time this rain returns to the northwest has got a look at the winds a
01:03very windy end to the evening and overnight the winds continue. In between
01:08some clearer skies although showers will drift in from Irish Sea coasts as well
01:13as the West Country through the night and temperatures will be a bit lower
01:17than they have been so single figures where you see clearer skies and still
01:22very wet and windy across western and northern parts of Scotland as we head
01:26into Thursday morning. Further east you could see some brighter weather
01:30certainly for southern Scotland. Northern Ireland it's really the east where you'll
01:34see some brighter weather to start the day before this showery rain gradually
01:37spreads in. Showers across the north and the west of Wales, the West Country
01:41Channel coasts as well but some brighter weather to start the day across the
01:47Midlands eastern counties of England. So as we head through Thursday this is
01:51pretty much the setup. We've got sunshine and showers developing across
01:55England and Wales. This more persistent band of wet weather moves in across
01:59Northern Ireland through the day but it will be a slow process to the far south
02:03of the province you could see some dry weather until around lunchtime. The rain
02:06then arrives across the central belt of Scotland. Still very windy across
02:10northern and central parts of Scotland. Elsewhere it's sunshine and showers
02:14through the afternoon. Now these showers will be slow moving but in between we
02:18will see some drier weather but where you catch a shower it could turn rather
02:22heavy and temperatures are notched down on what we've seen. So feeling quite
02:26fresh particularly in the wind with the rain towards the northwest. So that's a
02:31picture on Thursday afternoon. On Friday across Scotland and Northern Ireland
02:36fewer showers. Temperatures around average for this time of year and the
02:39winds won't be as strong. A similar situation further south. Yes you will see
02:44some scattering of showers. One or two could be on the heavy side at the same
02:48time. Some brighter weather coming through and temperatures around 15 to 18
02:52degrees Celsius. And into the weekend watch out for some chilly nights. Some
02:56drier weather on Saturday before we see milder air come in with some outbreaks
03:00of rain into Sunday.
