00:00Hello there, welcome to a weather update from the Met Office. We remain under a
00:04showering regime over the next 48 hours with the risk of thunder. In fact, through
00:09Tuesday evening, thunderstorm warnings remain in force until 8 p.m. across the
00:13northwest of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the West Country. Expect some heavy
00:16torrential downpours causing some problems on the roads. Now this rain here
00:20just clips Aberdeenshire before pushing towards Shetland overnight, but many
00:24parts seeing a quiet night, some clear skies, although always the chance of a
00:29few showers just clipping western fringes as we head into the early hours
00:32of the morning. Now temperatures holding up overnight 15-16 degrees Celsius
00:37across England and Wales, 12 or 13 across Scotland. In the glens of Scotland
00:41though it will be a little bit lower than that. That leads into a bright start
00:44to the day come Wednesday morning. However, showers from the world go across
00:48western Scotland and Northern Ireland and they're moving very slowly across
00:52the province as well as mainland Scotland towards the northeast. Elsewhere
00:56it's a fine start with some sunshine. However, the strong sunshine will trigger
01:00off more clouds and the chance of showers as we head through the morning
01:04into the afternoon. But there'll be a scattered affair. Some will be heavy,
01:08perhaps even torrential with thunder, but there will also be some brighter, drier
01:11weather around, certainly towards the southeast as well as western Scotland,
01:15the western side of Northern Ireland, through the latter part of the day. A
01:18fine end to the day here. Temperatures then typically around 21-22 in the north.
01:23You could see a 27 further south and east across England and Wales. That's a
01:28Wednesday afternoon for you. The shower risk tends to diminish yet again through
01:33Wednesday evening and overnight and again we'll see some clearer skies. The
01:38rain clears Shetland as well and in fact as we head through into Thursday morning
01:43it becomes dry for many areas with some starry skies, another warm one. In fact
01:49the trend in our weather through the next few days across much of England
01:53will be for it warming up. Temperatures slowly rising, turning hot across the
01:58south as well as the east. But Thursday will dawn bright with some sunshine yet
02:02again though you can see here a scattered affair when it comes to some
02:05heavy slow-moving showers, particularly across England and Wales and southern
02:09parts of Northern Ireland. Temperatures are a notch higher than Wednesday and
02:13even higher still on Thursday with the chance of some showers in the north, dry
02:18fine with some strong sunshine further south and temperatures pushing up
02:21towards 29 degrees Celsius. Bye bye.
