00:00Hello there and welcome to your forecast into Friday. Here are your headlines.
00:04Fine for the north and the west although a chilly night tonight.
00:07All eyes though are on France. Another batch of thundery rain develops here
00:11and will push towards the southeast through tomorrow.
00:14Another thunderstorm warning in force through Friday.
00:17For the time being, one or two thunderstorms rumbling on towards the southeast
00:21and we will see a little bit of showery rain across the Midlands down towards central southern England
00:25never really amounting to very much.
00:27Across Scotland and Northern Ireland some clearer skies as any showers towards the far northwest die out
00:32and overnight with those starry skies temperatures falling quite quickly.
00:36It's going to be a chilly old night as values dip down to around
00:39well in the glens of Scotland 3 or 4 degrees Celsius.
00:42Towards the southeast though we hang on to the high humidity air
00:45temperatures here around 14 to 16 degrees Celsius.
00:49So first thing on Friday morning it's a bright and chilly start for Scotland.
00:54A little bit of cloud around particularly towards the east.
00:56The odd shower across the far north.
00:58That sunshine extends down towards Cumbria as well as Lancashire.
01:02Cheshire also the north and the west of Wales. Northern Ireland doing quite well.
01:06Then we run into this cloud from the Midlands towards the southeast
01:09and some showery bursts of rain.
01:11Now this rain eventually will become thundery yet again
01:15and a weather warning in force throughout Friday into the early hours of Saturday morning.
01:21So here's your warning zone.
01:23The area we're most concerned about will be the southeast and East Anglia
01:27even eastern parts of the Midlands.
01:30Some stronger winds associated with this thundery rain as well.
01:34So it's likely to develop and move in as we head through rush hour on Friday morning.
01:39Some torrential downpours likely again for Kent the home counties eventually East Anglia.
01:45Quite a breeze coming in from the north and this rain gradually pushes up towards East Anglia
01:50Lincolnshire extends towards the eastern side of the Midlands central southern England
01:55whilst more rain arrives from the southeast.
01:58So the greatest threats will be thunder lightning and also torrential rain.
02:03Poor visibility. Lots of surface water on the roads.
02:06Elsewhere across the country through Friday mostly fine and dry conditions.
02:11Yes there'll be some sunshine around for Scotland.
02:14Northern Ireland. North West England. West Wales. Cornwall not doing too badly at all.
02:18More cloud though as you head towards that rain and that rain will be relentless
02:22and continue through the afternoon and into evening time.
02:26So watch out again through evening rush hour for a lot of surface water and poor visibility and spray.
02:32Now the winds will be a bit stronger here and temperatures not as high.
02:36Certainly you'll notice the difference.
02:38Cool under the cloud and the rain 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.
02:42Where you see some drier weather not too bad at all around 20 Celsius.
02:4718 to 19 in the north again with some sunshine.
02:51And here are your headlines for the weekend.
02:53Settled at first but then more showery rain comes in on Sunday. Bye bye.
