00:00Hello there, welcome to your Thursday morning weather report from the Met Office.
00:04Now through today we watch as rain clears many areas but lingers on towards
00:09more eastern counties of England. In fact first thing you'll see some showers
00:13across the north and the west of Scotland. Quite a breeze here, clearer
00:16skies across Aberdeenshire down towards the central belt but more rain extends
00:20from border regions right the way down across England and Wales. Northern
00:24Ireland seeing broken cloud first thing, one or two showers just skirting the far
00:27north there but this rain here is mostly light and patchy and we hang on
00:32to just about some dry conditions anywhere from Essex, Suffolk down
00:36towards Kent but a cold morning and eventually this rain will push towards
00:40these parts. So through the morning we watch as the rain clears northern
00:44England and then Wales. So some brightening weather, some drier
00:48conditions through the morning into the afternoon. Showers continue across the
00:52north and west of Scotland again skirting the far north of Northern
00:55Ireland but some brighter skies elsewhere and some sunshine to end the
00:59day across eastern counties of England as well as Wales the West Country but we
01:03hang on to that cloud anywhere from East Anglia down towards the southeast. Here
01:07temperatures only six or seven degrees Celsius under that legacy of cloud but
01:11further southwest 11 or 12. For Scotland we could just about see a nine towards
01:15the west. Now through Thursday evening showers will persist across the north
01:20and west of Scotland. Notice though a little bit more cloud just extending
01:25in very slowly from the west but some clearer skies further east and
01:29temperatures falling quite quickly. We could see some pockets of frost in rural
01:34spots as we head into the early hours of Friday morning but many areas dry and
01:39even some mist and fog towards more southern areas with a lighter breeze
01:42here. At the same time showers become more scattered across the north and the
01:47west as that cloud slowly moves in. Here are your temperatures then you can see
01:52eastern Scotland could see a frost in rural spots and much of central and
01:56eastern areas of England also a cold morning here but at least it'll be
02:00bright with some hazy sunshine. Now through the day the cloud will slowly
02:04thicken all courtesy of a warm front which will bring with it some patchy
02:08rain and drizzle particularly towards the northwest of Scotland but maybe even
02:13further south where the cloud is thick enough across the northwest of England
02:16southern parts of Scotland. Even West Wales seeing the odd spot or two of rain
02:20in Northern Ireland but further southeast you'll see some brighter
02:23weather and also dry conditions. Temperatures typically around 8 to 11
02:27degrees Celsius and it turns milder into the weekend. See you later.
