00:00Good morning and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.

00:03Well, after some sunshine on Saturday, it is a return to the rather grey and gloomy

00:08skies today across many parts of the country.

00:10We will see a few glimmers of sunshine across parts of eastern Scotland, maybe East Anglia

00:15and the South East too, but really, sunshine is going to be at a premium today.

00:19There will be some rain around, especially across the hills in the west, but more particularly

00:23across parts of Scotland.

00:25This rain actually becoming increasingly heavy and persistent as the day goes on, accompanied

00:29by a strengthening wind, so really leading to quite a miserable end to Sunday here.

00:34But for all of us, it's going to be a milder feeling day compared to of late, could see

00:38highs reaching around 12 or 13 degrees in a few spots.

00:43Into the evening, that rain just continues to pile in across parts of Scotland.

00:47Increasing winds too, so quite a wet and windy night to come here.

00:50Warnings are in force from this evening right throughout Monday and actually into Tuesday

00:55too.

00:56So if you do have plans in this area throughout the next couple of days, I recommend you keep

00:59up to date with the latest warnings on our website.

01:03To the south of this rain band, it's a fairly quiet night to come.

01:06A few clear spells around, but for all of us, it's another fairly mild night.

01:10Temperature is not much lower than around 7 or 8 degrees.

01:14So a mild start to the new working week, but a wet one for parts of Scotland and this rain

01:19band really will not go very far at all during the course of Monday.

01:23Further heavy and persistent rainfall, giving the risk of some localised flooding here.

01:28To the south of it, a little bit more in the way of breeze developing on Monday, so hopefully

01:31that will break up the cloud a little bit more, so maybe a few more of us seeing some

01:35glimmers of sunshine on Monday.

01:38And for all of us, it's another fairly mild day, highs reaching 12 or 13 degrees, maybe

01:42a smidgen cooler across the very far north of Scotland.

01:47It then turns much more widely unsettled as we head towards the middle part of the week,
