3 August - National weather forecast presented by Clare Nasir
Transcript
00:00Hello there. Southern England saw its driest July on record last month. And whilst the first few
00:05days of August have been wet for many, this rain hasn't made its way down towards the far southeast,
00:11where again through the next few days it will mostly dry apart from perhaps one or two showers.
00:16Now for Tuesday evening, it's damp outside across much of Wales, this rain extending towards the
00:21North Midlands as well as northern parts of England. Across the far northwest of Scotland,
00:26outbreaks of rain, a strong wind here, this rain making inroads across the western side of
00:30Scotland, Northern Ireland through the night with some showers ahead of it. Now down towards the
00:35West Country, yes we'll see some patchy rain and drizzle to start the day on Tuesday. It's going
00:39to be muggy here, in fact muggy across much of England and Wales, uncomfortable particularly
00:43across eastern counties of England. Yet again, temperatures hovering around 18, 19 degrees
00:47Celsius. So first thing on Wednesday morning, rather cloudy. This little bit of rain here
00:53across the Midlands, central southern England, slowly pushes towards East Anglia and perhaps
00:57just moves in towards the home counties but never really amounts to very much. The rain across the
01:02eastern side of Scotland fizzles out, really disintegrates into showers and these showers
01:07will then poke holes in the clouds. So a brighter afternoon to come certainly for the north and the
01:11west of Scotland as the winds ease. Showers also for Northern Ireland and some showers across
01:16central and eastern parts of Scotland could turn out to be quite pokey in places with some brighter
01:21skies further south across England and Wales to end the day and feeling very warm if not hot again
01:26towards the southeast again with some sunshine coming through 29 degrees Celsius, generally
01:31around 22 to 26 Celsius. Now through Thursday we'll see a showery start to the day across Scotland
01:37but these showers will tend to clear. A few are covering the western side of Scotland through the
01:41afternoon, most places though fine and dry and temperatures not as high as they have been.
01:46Now through Friday, yet again it's the west, we'll see those showers particularly towards the far
01:50northwest, some brighter weather coming through, temperatures around average for this time of year
01:54and then high pressure builds from the south and what that means, a settled weekend away from the
01:59far northwest of Scotland where you should see some rain on Saturday. All in all, a pleasant
02:04weekend to come and temperatures, well, feeling warm in the sunshine. Bye bye.
