00:00Hello there. Turning a lot cooler on Friday across the northern half of the UK with cloud, rain and a brisk breeze.

00:09Showery further south through Friday and in fact some sharp showers around through Thursday evening across the Midlands,

00:15southern parts of Northern England as well as Wales.

00:18More cloud further south associated with this occlusion, again the odd spot or two of shower and rain can't be ruled out.

00:24And rain across Scotland clears around midnight as well as Northern Ireland,

00:28arriving across North Wales as well as northern counties of England.

00:32Then the rain returns to the northern and north-eastern areas of Scotland through the latter part of the night.

00:37A few showers filing in across more western areas of Scotland with a keen breeze here.

00:42So a cloudy night to come and certainly a showery start to the day across more southern areas and the north-east.

00:49Coolest air will be towards western Scotland where we will see some clearer skies through the early part of Friday morning.

00:56So first thing on Friday, we pick up on that rain across central and eastern areas of Scotland.

01:03The wind coming in from the north.

01:05One or two showers continue across the western isles.

01:07A bright start for Northern Ireland but we will see more cloud here through the day and a few showers.

01:12Cloudier skies across England and Wales and showery bursts of rain continuing

01:16anywhere from eastern England down towards the west country south-eastwards.

01:20So here the rain will come and go but it will improve through the day.

01:24The cloud will overturn and we will see some brighter weather particularly towards the south-west.

01:29But this rain will sink down towards the north-east of England where again it's going to feel very cool through Friday.

01:35Showery bursts of rain continue through the day.

01:38You can see this rain clearing the far south-east through the afternoon

01:41but with any sunshine we could see some showers develop through Friday afternoon

01:46and again the chance of them being quite hefty in places in between some brighter weather

01:51and some sunshine to end the day across the far north as well as the north-west of Scotland with a breeze here.

01:57Still under that cloud though across central and eastern areas of Scotland.

02:00Southern Scotland also seeing some patchy rain and a scattering of showers for Northern Ireland through the afternoon.

02:06Highest temperatures possibly towards the south where we could see a 21 but a good 8 or 9 degrees lower

02:12across the north there where we see that cloud and outbreaks of rain.

02:16All change though into the weekend.

02:19This system sinks down towards more southern areas of England and Wales.

02:23Towards the north we see high pressure assert itself so it turns out fine with some sunshine

02:29although some cool nights through Saturday and into Sunday.

02:32And then showery rain on Sunday after some sharp showers on Saturday across the southern third of the UK

02:38will bring with it more in the way of cloud.

02:41So mixed fortunes into the weekend.

02:43Here's your city's list for Saturday.

02:45Some sunshine in the north, showers in the south.

02:48Again they could be sharp as well as thundery for a time.

02:51And then come Sunday always more in the way of clouds across more southern areas.

02:55Temperatures struggling here but a warmer day all round across Scotland and Northern Ireland and Northern England.
