00:00Hello there. The forecast into Thursday, the key features. More rain arrives across Scotland.
00:06The air becomes warm, particularly in any sunshine, but more cloud in the forecast through
00:11tomorrow. Let's have a look at the bigger picture. We have an occlusion which is pushing
00:16down towards England and Wales, introducing more cloud and a little bit of showery rain
00:20through Thursday. Behind it, this warm front skirts the far north of Scotland, but it will
00:25introduce more warm air across much of the country as we head into Thursday, and then
00:29the cold front brings with it some more persistent rain sinking down towards England and Wales
00:34where things become unsettled through Friday and into the weekend, particularly for more
00:39southern areas. More about that in a moment. For the time being, through Thursday, some
00:44lovely sunshine across central and eastern areas of England. Eastern Scotland not doing
00:48too badly at all through the latter part of Wednesday. And overnight, more cloud across
00:52northern England and Wales, and again, spits and spots of rain. Behind it, this warm front
00:57skirts up towards the Northern Isles, bringing with it more clouds and patchy rain across
01:01the north as well as the west of Scotland, but temperatures will hold up here. It's going
01:05to be a mild night, holding in double figures. Across more southern areas, the Midlands,
01:10south eastwards, we'll see temperatures in single figures, so a cooler start to Thursday,
01:15but it will be bright. So first thing on Thursday morning, the best of the brightness to the
01:20east of the Highlands where we will see some sunshine. You can see the cloud arriving across
01:24western Scotland with some more persistent rain, a bit of a breeze here. A fine start
01:29for Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, northern England. Then we run into more cloud and a
01:33bit of dampness across the far northwest of England, western parts of Wales. To the east
01:38of that, it's a fine start, a clear start with some sunshine. And that's where we hang
01:42on to the brighter weather through the morning. And certainly the morning will be bright across
01:47eastern Scotland, southern Scotland, northern England. Northern Ireland also seeing some
01:51cloud but also some brighter weather, particularly towards the south east. But the cloud and
01:56the rain arrives across western Scotland. You can see some brighter echoes here, representing
02:00some moderate bursts. And eventually this rain will sink down towards Northern Ireland
02:04by around lunchtime, reaching the central belt of Scotland, particularly Glasgow and
02:09Ayrshire. We hang on to the drier weather for Aberdeenshire as well as borders. And
02:14for northern parts of England, you'll have a fine afternoon. Northern areas of Wales
02:18as well. But that sunshine could spark off one or two showers to the south of that. More
02:22cloud for the Midlands, East Anglia, as well as central southern England and a little bit
02:26of showery rain. Highest 10% in the sunshine, 23, 24 degrees Celsius. Here's your bigger
02:31picture through the weekend. That rain clears towards more southern areas where we will
02:36see some sharp showers on Saturday, some showery rain on Sunday. A ridge of high pressure extends
02:41across much of northern Britain. And what that means, some fine and settled weather,
02:45although the air will be a bit cooler here. Even so, you should see some sunshine. Best
02:50the sunshine towards the west as well as the northwest. A keen breeze across the far north.
02:54So here's your outlook for the next few days into the weekend. I'll see you later.
