00:00Hello there. Quiet for the first part of Thursday with some sunshine before more
00:04rain arrives from the west. Before that though, through Wednesday evening, a
00:09thunderstorm warning is in force until 8 p.m. southern Scotland, north-east
00:13England. Some hefty bursts and some slow-moving showers can't be ruled out
00:16across England. However, clear skies overnight. Away from Northern Ireland,
00:20south-west Scotland, north-west England will see a batch of clouds and some
00:24patchy rain and drizzle here. Elsewhere, it's a fine end to the night but rather
00:28chilly, particularly across mid Wales towards the Midlands, central southern
00:31England in the countryside. Temperatures dipping down to single figures. But a
00:36fine start across northern parts of Scotland first thing on Thursday morning.
00:41Yes, the cloud will come and go but some brighter skies, particularly for the
00:44north-west Highlands. Then we run into this patchy rain anywhere from Oban down
00:47towards Dumfries and Galloway. It's moving its way northwards and breaking
00:51down to showers through the day. A bright start for Northern Ireland, much of
00:54England and Wales, particularly south of Derbyshire where we'll see some good
00:58spells of sunshine. A bit chilly first thing but even so, the sun will warm
01:03things up quite quickly. However, towards the south-west it's the cloudier start
01:07with a keen breeze and then some outbreaks of rain. Now this rain will
01:11slowly track its way north-eastwards through the morning into the afternoon.
01:14So by lunchtime, Northern Ireland's seeing quite a breeze and outbreaks of
01:18rain extending down towards Wales, the West Midlands and some patchy rain for
01:22the West Country. Elsewhere, a few showers for central and eastern areas of
01:26Scotland but it's a fine day across much of Northern England, East Midlands,
01:29East Anglia, the south-east. Some sunshine here, feeling warm in that
01:33sunshine and by mid-afternoon the rain would have just fringed western parts of
01:37Scotland, just moving in across the Isle of Man, far north-west of England. So
01:42temperatures in the sunshine coming in the low 20s, feeling pleasant. However,
01:47winds will slowly pick up more strength through Thursday evening and overnight
01:51and eventually we'll see gales across the north-west associated with this
01:55area of low pressure just behind me here. Some patchy rain also for central
02:00and southern parts of England associated with that weather front. Elsewhere,
02:04some clear skies overnight but the air is relatively mild. So a fairly dry start
02:09to the day come Friday, some showers in the north-west, some sunshine elsewhere
02:14but it will be a windy one. And through Friday, yes, showers will develop on
02:18Saturday, turning quite gusty across the northern two-thirds of the country,
02:23particularly over the higher ground, with further showery bursts of rain across the
02:26north-west but turning brighter and drier on Saturday across central and
02:30southern parts of England and Wales. And that calm weather gradually migrates its
02:34way northwards into Scotland and Northern Ireland as we head into Sunday.
02:38Bye-bye.
