00:00Hello, sunny skies in the east today, cloudier skies further west with some rain coming in
00:07on a couple of weather fronts. Not a great deal of rain. The weather fronts are reasonably
00:13detached from their apparent low. That low is unusually deep for the time of year. We
00:18don't often see lows that deep in the start of June. But nevertheless, it will bring some
00:22windy weather through Friday and Saturday as it edges closer. But initially, the cloud
00:28and rain ahead of it will lead to a damp day, I think, for western fringes. Western
00:32Scotland, western parts of England, as well as Wales, seeing that drizzly rain arrive
00:37during the day. A lot of low cloud here as well, but Northern Ireland brightens up. A
00:42late maximum temperature here with just a few showers following. However, the best of
00:46any drier and sunnier weather will be in the east. Just one or two showers for the far
00:50north-east of Scotland, otherwise bright skies here. And for the east of England, a fine
00:55day to come. 21 to, in Norwich, 23 Celsius. Not feeling so fine further west with the
01:03wind picking up and the areas of cloud moving through. And eventually, the rain moves east.
01:08But you can see it fragments. It basically peters out overnight. Still a few drizzly
01:13showers around the English Channel coast into the south-east by dawn. One or two showers
01:18further west as well, and increasingly so for the far north-west of Scotland on an increased
01:24wind. Now, with that wind, well, temperatures are going to stay up. It's going to be a mild
01:30night for many, particularly towards the south-east, 15 or 16 Celsius. But a breezy start to the
01:36day on Friday. Nevertheless, plenty of sunny skies to begin things. The cloud well broken.
01:42Still a few showers lingering around East Anglia and the south-east, and further showers
01:46come into western and northern parts of England, Wales as well. But these will be few and far
01:51between. The main focus for showers will be increasingly parts of Scotland and Northern
01:56Ireland, especially towards the north-west, where there will be heavy and frequent and
02:00that strong wind. Well, it picks up further into the afternoon with the risk of gales
02:05around exposed parts of the Western Isles, for example. And a breezy day for many. But
02:10despite that breeze, temperatures will be relatively high. 24 Celsius there for London.
02:17High teens, low twenties elsewhere across England and Wales, but not feeling so warm
02:22across Scotland and Northern Ireland with those showers coming through, as well as the
02:26strong wind. The showers will increasingly affect parts of Northern England, North Wales
02:30during Friday evening. Perhaps some longer spells of rain making an appearance in the
02:34far west of Scotland after dark. There will be more showers and stronger winds again on
02:41Saturday in the north-west, but fine weather for many elsewhere.
