00:00Hello again, a warmer and brighter day for many today, but still the potential for one
00:05or two showers. We've seen some outbreaks of rain for the south coast earlier in the
00:10day and the cloud and those outbreaks of rain will tend to drift north and turn to showers
00:15for central and southern parts of the UK, with some heavy downpours in places. But away
00:21for those showers, some brighter spells breaking out. The best of the sunshine though, like
00:25previous days, will be across Scotland and we'll see temperatures rise. As a result,
00:3120-21 Celsius possible for western parts of Scotland, mid to high teens elsewhere, 22
00:37there, the afternoon high for London. But feeling much cooler for the north and north-east
00:42coast, with a bit more cloud coming in from the North Sea. Now, any showers in the south
00:48ease during the evening, but we are going to see some additional showery rain approach
00:53from the west. That will move into Cornwall and Devon during the evening and eventually
00:57push into Wales, Northern Ireland, before sweeping across the rest of England as well
01:02as southern Scotland during the early hours. Some heavy rain at times, a couple of hours
01:08of persistent wet weather for many, especially northern England and the far south-east by
01:14the end of the night. But the rain clears from the south-west, showers replace the wet
01:19weather and the rain and the cloud will keep temperatures up. So we're looking at 14 or
01:2415 Celsius as we start off Wednesday, a milder start compared to Tuesday. Clear spells for
01:30the far north of Scotland with temperatures of the single figures here as we begin the
01:34day. And actually for the far north of Scotland, mostly a fine day, a lot of low cloud for
01:39Aberdeenshire, the far north-east, best of any sunny spells in the north-west where it
01:43will also be warm. But the rain from the south stalls across central and southern Scotland
01:50with showers pushing into Northern Ireland, southern Scotland as well as northern England.
01:54Slow moving downpours in this area, could be tricky driving conditions in places. Also
01:59some sharp showers further south, thunder and hail a possibility, but these will be
02:03moving through more quickly because of a breeze coming in from the west. And that breeze will
02:08make it feel a bit cooler, 19 to 22 Celsius, whilst it will be feeling I think disappointingly
02:14cool across central and eastern parts of Scotland and north-east of England with the additional
02:18low cloud and a breeze from the sea. Now into Wednesday evening, an area of rain could well
02:25move from Northern Ireland as well as the Republic of Ireland into north Wales, perhaps
02:30the north-west of England as well. Showers carry on elsewhere for a time. But eventually
02:35overnight the rain tends to ease, weather fronts move away. A drier spell for many but
02:42a lot of low cloud I think persisting across eastern parts of the country. Before then,
02:47later Thursday, another low pushes in. Rain into the west followed by strengthening winds
02:53and Friday and Saturday, showers and sunny spells but also that strong wind.
