00:00Hello again, it will be windy over the next couple of days but there will also be plenty
00:06of fine and bright weather, particularly towards the south and the east away from this area
00:11of low pressure. This is an unseasonably deep area of low pressure, it's moving close to
00:16the northwest and that's where the bulk of the strongest winds and the heaviest showers
00:20will be during the rest of Friday and in fact throughout much of Saturday. So frequent heavy
00:25showers for Scotland and Northern Ireland, perhaps some hail mixed in, gusty winds as
00:29well. Those winds reach in gale force for exposed parts of western Scotland and 50 mile
00:35per hour wind gusts can be expected. Further south, a breezy day to come but actually for
00:41much of England and Wales it's largely dry and bright, sunny spells and out of the wind
00:46feeling pleasant enough. Temperatures up to 24, perhaps in one or two spots across East
00:53Anglia for example, 25 Celsius. 20 Celsius also possible for eastern Scotland but feeling
00:59much cooler across western Scotland with the wind and those frequent showers coming through.
01:05As we head into Friday evening, longer spells of rain move into the far northwest and we'll
01:11see further showers across the rest of Scotland as well as for Northern Ireland and those
01:16showers will increasingly affect northern England, western parts of England as well
01:20as Wales. But towards the south and the southeast, clear spells, where we get the wind easing
01:25overnight, some shelter from that breeze, well we could see those temperatures dip into
01:29the single figures, 7 or 8 Celsius and a few shallow fog patches. But otherwise, because
01:33of the wind, it's going to be a relatively mild night, 12 to 14 Celsius generally. As
01:39we start off Saturday then, a bright start for many across England and Wales, one or
01:43two showers in the west but again the lion's share of showers and longer spells of rain
01:48will be across western Scotland and Northern Ireland. An unsettled day to come here and
01:53for the Highlands, a particularly soggy day with strong winds, gales around exposed hilltops
01:59and coasts. But, although it will be breezy further south and it will be particularly
02:03gusty over the hills of North Wales and the Pennines, well it's going to be mostly again
02:08dry and bright, just one or two showers for Wales and Northern England and for the far
02:13southeast, well avoiding the showers here, out of the breeze, 23 Celsius is possible.
02:19Saturday night then brings further spells of rain into the west of Scotland, showers
02:23elsewhere across northern and western parts of the UK but increasingly clear spells across
02:27southern areas. Again, one or two mist and fog patches could form where the winds drop
02:31out in the far south overnight and cool here but a mild night to come elsewhere where we've
02:37got that wind stirring the air up. Sunday is still looking breezy but the winds won't
02:41be as strong, it's still looking showery but the showers won't be as frequent in the north
02:45and there'll be some sunshine in the south.
