00:00Hi there. Rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland is now sinking south across the rest
00:06of the UK, clearing gradually on Tuesday morning. But it's a damp night to come for Northern
00:11England, parts of the Midlands, Wales as well. Increasingly cloudy skies pushing ahead of
00:16this for much of the south and south-east. But clearing skies for Scotland and Northern
00:20Ireland, and blustery showers arrive here. Some heavy downpours in the far west and north-west.
00:28Temperatures down into the single figures in the north, but frost-free up in the teens
00:34I think as we approach dawn in the south because of the increasing cloud and those outbreaks
00:40of rain. But it's a damp start to the day for Northern and Central England. And then
00:45slowly the rain pushes into East Anglia and the south-east. By lunchtime it clears away.
00:49Brighter skies follow across much of England and Wales. Sunny spells for many, but a few
00:54showers will break out for Wales, parts of the Midlands into Northern England. More unstable
00:59air for Scotland and Northern Ireland where the showers will be lively. They'll be moving
01:03through quickly. Perhaps the odd rumble of thunder as well. And a cool breeze in the
01:07north. Temperatures around 13 to 16 Celsius whilst we keep the warmth for the south still
01:14above average. Not quite as warm as Monday, but 21 Celsius possible in the capital. Tuesday
01:22evening brings clear spells for many, but I think an area of cloud starts to emerge
01:26towards the south-west and some outbreaks of patchy rain arrive into Wales and the south-west
01:33by the end of the night. Otherwise the showers keep going for Scotland and Northern Ireland,
01:37parts of Northern England as well. Drier towards the south-east. And another relatively mild
01:42night for many because of the brisker breeze. Now the cloud and rain towards the south-west
01:48is open to doubt at the moment in terms of its track and timing. Big error bars certainly
01:55when you consider this is just two days away because of this developing area of low pressure.
02:00Some uncertainty about how much it will deepen and hence its depth, hence its timing and
02:05its track. But it looks likely that on Wednesday we'll see cloudier skies across southern and
02:10south-western areas. Rain pushing into the Bristol Channel, perhaps south Wales, the
02:14Midlands as well. It could be a bit further south, could be a bit further north. Wouldn't
02:18take these graphics too literally. Either way, some much-needed rainfall has to be said
02:24for some parts of the south. Further north, clearer picture. Northern England, Scotland
02:29and Northern Ireland sees sunny spells and showers and again a blustery breeze. And a
02:34little cooler than Tuesday as well, mid-teens generally. Also temperatures suppressed where
02:39we've got that cloud and those outbreaks of rain further south. Either way, that's out
02:44of the way for the end of the week and then it dries up in the south, still some showers
02:49in the north before more widely high-pressure builds this weekend.
