10 May - National weather forecast presented by Aiden McGivern.

00:00Hello. The wet weather that some parts of northern UK saw on Monday is now clearing
00:07the south-east but it's a weakening weather front and no more than a few light outbreaks
00:12of rain and drizzle. A lot of low cloud though for East Anglia and the south-east early afternoon
00:17before eventually skies brighten. Sunny spells then widely across the UK by around 3 or 4
00:23p.m. and a bit of a breeze pushing some showers in, one or two showers for northern England
00:28but more widely across Scotland and Northern Ireland a few heavy downpours. It's going
00:33to be particularly windy in the far north-west of Scotland but elsewhere with that breeze
00:38coming from the south-west it's going to be relatively mild once again with temperatures
00:43in the south still managing to get up to 20 to 22 Celsius mid to high teens elsewhere.
00:51It's the evening, a breeze picks up further in the north-west ahead of some longer spells
00:55of rain across the Western Isles and then pushing into western Scotland, parts of Northern
01:00Ireland and eventually northern England. Otherwise the southern half of the UK dry with clear
01:05spells for a time before the cloud builds from the south-west and further wet weather
01:10arrives into Wales and the south-west by the end of the night. That will keep things relatively
01:16mild overnight, we're looking at 8 to 11 Celsius fairly widely. But a damp start to the day
01:23for Wales and the south-west because this weather front is pushing in from the south-west.
01:28Still a little bit of uncertainty about timings and track of this feature so I wouldn't take
01:32the graphics too literally but expect some rain for southern parts of the UK first thing
01:38Wednesday that's spilling into the Midlands affecting central southern England for a time.
01:44Most likely avoiding the south-east where it stays relatively warm with some sunny spells
01:48and there will be plenty of bright weather further north. Northern England, Scotland
01:51and Northern Ireland seeing a similar kind of day with a mixture of sunny spells and
01:55heavy showers. Also we keep that breeze blowing across northern parts of the UK and it's quite
02:01blustery further south as well and of course with that rain and the breeze it's going to
02:06be a much cooler day with temperatures under the rain staying at around 13 or 14 Celsius
02:12but perhaps 20 degrees or so in the far south-east ahead of the rain which then eventually peels
02:19its way south-eastwards during Wednesday evening. Of course the wettest weather for Wales, parts
02:26of the Midlands and the south-west will be quite useful for gardens and farms but I don't
02:30think we'll see a great deal as it pushes through the south-east. Sunny spells and showers
02:35follow for much of northern UK whilst it turns dry in the south and that fine weather becomes
02:40more widespread this weekend.
