00:00Hi there, a wet day for parts of England and Wales with some much-needed rain in many places.
00:06That rain as we head into the afternoon spreads into parts of the Midlands, Eastern England
00:11as well as the South. But Wales, South West England brighten up with just a few showers
00:17following. The main shower activity will be across Northern England, Scotland and Northern
00:21Ireland. Quite a keen breeze here as well blowing those showers through and some heavy
00:25downpours but interspersed by sunny spells. A cool feel particularly where we've got the
00:30outbreaks of persistent rain which eventually spread into the South East along with a gusty
00:35wind by the end of the afternoon. So temperatures generally mid to high teens but suppressed
00:40for a few hours as the rain goes through. Then heading into the evening the rain does
00:45clear from the South East but a few heavy showers follow for parts of Eastern England.
00:51Dryer, clearer spells emerge across much of the UK. Still a breezy night but a much
00:56cooler feel compared to recent nights with temperatures mostly dipping into the single
01:01figures, perhaps low single figures in sheltered parts of Scotland. Still further showers affecting
01:08the far North and West of Scotland, perhaps one or two approaching the North of Northern
01:12Ireland as well. And the weather stays changeable in the North with these weather fronts approaching.
01:18These are weather fronts that will bring showers or more persistent rain at times in
01:22the far North West. But further South higher pressure is building so a fine day to come
01:27across much of England and Wales. A sunny start, a fresh feel first thing but actually
01:32it will feel pleasant enough when the sunshine comes through and things warm up. A cloud
01:38will build into the afternoon, could see the odd shower for South West England, Wales as
01:42well, perhaps Northern England. But most of the showers once again across Scotland and
01:46Northern Ireland and Western Scotland those showers will merge into longer spells of
01:51rain at times. Another breezy day to come and on the cool side when you compare it to
01:56the start of the week and the weekend but temperatures still a touch above average in
02:02the South, closer to average further North and feeling pleasant in the sunnier spells
02:07in the South certainly compared to the wet weather of Wednesday. Into the evening and
02:13into these showers or longer spells of rain spread across Scotland and Northern Ireland
02:17eventually reaching parts of Northern England and North Wales, clear spells further South.
02:22And Friday's a roughly similar day with some changeable and occasional showery weather
02:28for the far North with drier and brighter weather in the South and that fine weather
02:33extends countrywide for Saturday.
