00:00Hi there. Much calmer weather arrives as we start the weekend and by Saturday afternoon
00:05many places will enjoy some warm sunny spells. But it's going to be a slow starter thing
00:10on Saturday because of an area of low cloud that's going to become fairly extensive across
00:14the eastern, central and southern parts of the UK during Friday night. Also some mistiness
00:19and low cloud creeping around the coast of Scotland and Northern Ireland. But across
00:23Scotland, Northern Ireland, Western England and Wales clear skies overnight leading to
00:27lower temperatures. I think mid-single figures in places, perhaps as low as 3 Celsius for
00:32some sheltered parts of Scotland. And a few mist and fog patches forming inland as a result
00:38of those lower temperatures. But 8 to 10 degrees where we've got the grey leaden skies as we
00:43begin Saturday across central, eastern and southern parts of the UK. It's going to be
00:48nibbled away at its edges and so skies do brighten but you can see across the central
00:53parts, across the Midlands, into parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, Norfolk. It's
00:58going to take much of the afternoon for that cloud to be burnt back to the coast and it's
01:02going to stay misty and cool on the North Sea coast throughout Saturday with temperatures
01:08really suppressed once again. 12 or 13 Celsius on the beaches, likewise for the Northern
01:12Isles. Otherwise plenty of warmth where we've got the sunshine breaking through and 18 to
01:1721 Celsius is possible. The warm spots likely towards the south coast as well as somewhere
01:23like Glasgow or the Murray coast. 21 Celsius possible in these spots as well. Odd shower
01:29could break out across South Wales and the south-west of England. These will be very
01:32isolated if they do occur and for most places it is a dry and bright Saturday and we keep
01:40that going into Saturday night. But for north-west Scotland, thicker cloud arrives by Sunday
01:47and we're going to see some outbreaks of rain push in from the Atlantic. Slow moving weather
01:51fronts but nevertheless it's going to bring some persistent damp weather by the end of
01:55the night. Elsewhere across England and Wales we keep clear spells for a time before the
02:00low cloud begins to push in across the Midlands, East Anglia and the south once again. 7 or
02:068 Celsius with the low cloud. Slice of clear spells for northern and western England and
02:10Wales amid single figures possible in places here but for Scotland and Northern Ireland
02:14a milder night to come because of the cloudy and damp weather. The weather front associated
02:19with this becomes slow moving. The ice bars drop out as the front pushes into the area
02:25of high pressure that's still dominating on Sunday across much of England and Wales. So
02:30England and Wales again a slow start to the day. Some low cloud around that will tend
02:34to lift and break through the morning and by the afternoon plenty of sunshine south
02:38of Cumbria but we'll also see a few showers breaking out by the afternoon across the Midlands
02:42into south west England. And towards the south east plenty of bright blue skies remaining
02:48and that's where the highest temperatures will be 18, 19, perhaps 20 Celsius. Certainly
02:52a warmer feel on the North Sea coast because we've changed the wind direction but for Scotland
02:56and Northern Ireland feeling cooler with a cloudier day expected with outbreaks of light
03:01rain on and off replaced by showers in the far north west later. This front trundles
03:05its way southwards during the start of next week turning more showery as it pushes into
03:09England and Wales for Monday and for many places it turns more settled then by the middle
03:16of next week.
