00:00Hi there, any showers will ease this evening and then conditions clearing
00:05across England and Wales overnight leading to a fine weekend for many but a
00:09different story for Scotland and Northern Ireland. That's where the
00:11brightest skies have been on Friday but into the weekend we see thicker cloud
00:15arrive from the Atlantic turning increasingly damp across northern and
00:19western Scotland through the evening and overnight and for Northern Ireland as
00:22well some outbreaks of mostly light rain. With the cloud cover across Scotland and
00:27Northern Ireland overnight it's going to be milder compared with Friday morning
00:31but across England and Wales a contrast here with clearing skies and in some
00:36shelter spots three or four Celsius. Despite the cool starts plenty of
00:40sunshine actually first thing Saturday and those sunny spells will soon warm up
00:45the air with temperatures rising quite nicely. Extensive sunshine for England
00:50and Wales away from the far northwest and for Scotland and Northern Ireland
00:53there will still be some signs of brightness during Saturday in places but
00:58some light outbreaks of rain will continue to affect the northeast and it's
01:02going to turn increasingly gloomy by the end of the day across the northwest and
01:06west of Scotland with some mistiness around coasts and some showery rain. A slice of
01:11brighter skies in the northwest Highlands, Murray coast could lead to 20
01:16Celsius in one or two favoured spots but the sunniest skies will be across
01:20England and Wales where temperatures will reach in places 22 degrees although take
01:25note of the cooler onshore flow there for the North Sea coast. Temperatures
01:29held back here as a result. Then we keep the clear skies across England and Wales
01:34overnight but for Scotland and Northern Ireland the thicker and lower cloud in
01:38the northwest at the end of the afternoon that becomes more widespread
01:40overnight with some persistent and at times heavy rainfall. The rain does tend to
01:45peter out by the end of the night it becomes lighter and patchier but we keep
01:50the low cloud extensively across Scotland and Northern Ireland and as a
01:54result it's a mild start to Sunday. But for England and Wales a sunny start albeit
02:00again fairly cool out there first thing three or four Celsius in some sheltered
02:04spots. The sunshine though across England and Wales will again warm things up
02:08quite quickly and we keep those sunny spells in many places although some
02:13areas of cloud will fill in across central and southeastern parts of England and again we've got that cooler flow from the North Sea. Now for Scotland and Northern Ireland fairly gloomy conditions through the day a lot of low cloud but in the far south of Scotland brighter skies at times and increasingly bright for the north and northwest of Scotland. A sunnier day expected here compared with Saturday and any rainfall becoming confined to central parts of Scotland by the afternoon turning to scattered showers by the end of the day albeit quite slow moving showers. I think mid to high teens in the
02:42north but where we've got the sunny skies further south 20, 21 even 22 Celsius
02:48possible. The fine weather continues into next week for many the weather front in
02:52the north also tends to fragment and disappear and then high-pressure building
02:57more widely across the UK for Monday and Tuesday and I think that sets the theme
03:01for much of next week. It's not just England or Wales that will see the sunny
03:05skies I think Scotland and Northern Ireland will also see some decent spells
03:09of sunshine at times with this Azores high in charge of our weather for the
03:14foreseeable. That's all from me but much more detail as ever on social media bye
03:18bye for now.
