00:00Hello again. Warmer and drier weather is on the way for the Easter weekend, more on that
00:04in our YouTube Week Ahead forecast. But still some rain to talk about over the next couple
00:09of days. Warmer weather has already arrived for many, still a chill for the north-east
00:15of Scotland, winds here coming from the North Sea and still with low pressure to the west
00:20driving this warmth where we're going to see some outbreaks of showers or rain continue
00:25through Monday night and into Tuesday. One area of showers becoming a larger area of
00:30rain pushing into eastern and northern Scotland through the night. Next area of showers moves
00:35up then from the south, perhaps even some thundery downpours for Wales and the south-west
00:40through the night. Clear spells away from the cloudier, more showery weather but still
00:45with a keen breeze and with a lot of cloud in the sky, temperatures holding up. It's
00:51going to be a frost-free start for virtually everyone. Eleven Celsius in the south, five
00:55or six further north. But a grey start to the day, a lot of mistiness with this low
01:00cloud covering the country and areas of showers or rain moves north. Now by the afternoon,
01:07the more persistent wet weather will be focused across much of central and eastern Scotland,
01:12northern and eastern England. Elsewhere, brighter skies but as the sun comes out, as temperatures
01:18rise, a few fairly lively downpours will break out, especially for Wales and the south-west.
01:25It's here where the highest temperatures will be, I think 17 fairly widely but if we get
01:29some brightness with some lighter winds, 18 or 19 Celsius is possible. A different story
01:35for north-east England, for eastern Scotland, the far north where a brisk wind from the
01:40North Sea and those outbreaks of rain will make it feel on the cold side. Tuesday then
01:46ends with those outbreaks of rain moving north-east steadily and showers elsewhere fading away
01:52for a time but it looks like it's going to be a damp night for much of northern Scotland
01:57as the rain pulls away. Clear spells breaking out elsewhere but actually a lot of fog forming
02:02I think with lighter winds compared to recent days and some mistiness around coasts as well.
02:07So gloomy starts to Wednesday but another mild start. We've got this relatively humid
02:12air mass at the moment so it's going to be largely frost free on Wednesday morning but
02:20with a lot of gloom about. And then through the morning, skies do brighten, especially
02:25in the south and the east. Rain eventually pulls away from the far north of Scotland
02:30but showers break out as temperatures rise, some quite lively downpours, especially towards
02:35central and southern parts of the UK. Away from the showers, high teens, perhaps even
02:4020 Celsius somewhere like London or just to the north of London, staying on the cold
02:44side in the far north-east of Scotland otherwise those temperatures are fairly widely above
02:49average. Looks like Thursday and into Friday brings some thickening cloud into the west
02:56and some outbreaks of rain but on the whole temperatures are rising and the weather is
03:01becoming more settled heading into the Easter weekend.
