00:00Hi there, it's turned colder with winds coming from the north and those winds carry with
00:04them a number of showers, but also some longer spells of wet weather. We've already seen
00:09some wet weather move through Northern Ireland overnight into North West England and parts
00:13of Wales. And it's this clump of showery rain that will move its way south-eastwards during
00:18the rest of the day. To the south of that, the potential for some lively thunderstorms,
00:21even some hail to break out across parts of South and South West England, South Wales
00:25as well. There's a longer spell of wet weather moving into the south midlands, central southern
00:30England, reaching London by the end of the afternoon. For Scotland, Northern Ireland
00:35and Northern England, brightest skies here with some sunny spells coming through, but
00:39also a fair few showers and those showers with the colder airflow turning to sleet,
00:46snow and hail in places, but accumulations fairly negligible. Nevertheless, it will feel
00:51cold in the wind, particularly along that North Sea coast and temperatures will be well
00:55below average in the north. Once the rain in the south clears through, the cloud disappears
01:00and then with widespread clear skies overnight, well, temperatures will fall with widespread
01:06frost expected. In some urban areas, temperatures staying up at one or two Celsius, but certainly
01:12in the countryside, a few degrees below freezing as low as minus eight Celsius for parts of
01:17Scotland. And there will continue to be some snow showers into the north of Scotland as
01:21well, a few icy patches to wake up to on Tuesday morning. Those snow showers not amount
01:27to much, only a centimetre or so over some of the higher routes. And the snow showers
01:31will tend to be a bit more restricted to the north of Scotland, I think on Tuesday. For
01:35many, it's a drier and brighter day to come. One or two showers for Irish sea coasts and
01:40a fair amount of cloud building up and it will continue to feel cold, a colder day in
01:45the south and temperatures in many spots struggling to reach the double figures. But with the
01:50bright skies, with less of a wind, I suspect it will feel a little more pleasant. You'll
01:55notice some higher cloud drifting into the southwest by the end of Tuesday, perhaps even
02:00a few spots of rain reaching Cornwall by the evening. And those outbreaks of rain, a sign
02:05of a change on the way for later this week. It's going to turn a little more changeable
02:10with rain arriving from the west and southwest, but temperatures will rise after another frosty
02:16night on Tuesday night.
