00:00Hello and welcome to the latest national weather forecast from the Met Office. Very little
00:05appreciable rainfall in the forecast for the rest of Tuesday and for the next few days
00:09as high pressure continues to dominate. High pressure is building from the north once again.
00:14Now that means that we're pulling in slightly cooler air from the northeast and a lot of
00:20cloud actually for Scotland, for much of northern, central and eastern England and a few mainly
00:26light showers particularly for the likes of Yorkshire into Lincolnshire. With that cool
00:31breeze it's certainly going to have an impact on the temperatures, 9 to 12 Celsius on the
00:36east coast. But towards the south, towards the west, brighter skies, some sunshine and
00:42feeling warmer, 15, 16, perhaps 17 Celsius. Any showers, any cloud really tends to fade
00:50into the evening and overnight and that means lengthy clear spells and with the cool air
00:56in place, temperatures will fall away. It's likely to be a fairly chilly end to the night
01:02with some spots seeing a frost, most likely sheltered parts of northern UK. You can see
01:07the blues there on the map, temperatures in one or two places dipping to minus 3 Celsius,
01:12perhaps minus 1 in the south if we get lengthy clear spells and shelter from the wind. But
01:19otherwise a bright enough start to Wednesday, plenty of sunshine first thing. There'll be
01:24some cloud floating about here and there but I think on the whole for Scotland, northern
01:29and eastern England it looks like a brighter day. Temperatures will be a little lower compared
01:34to Tuesday but with the greater amount of sunshine, less of a wind as well. It's going
01:39to feel more pleasant I think for Scotland, northern and eastern England certainly and
01:43even in the south very similar temperatures, a bit more cloud around perhaps. But for the
01:48vast majority it's staying dry, that high pressure leading to a prolonged settle spell
01:54through the rest of the week and I think Wednesday night into Thursday is another chilly one.
01:59Gardeners beware, another frost is possible in places and then Thursday again a largely
02:06dry and bright day and that really continues into the start of the bank holiday weekend.
02:11Bye bye.
