00:00Hello. The heat that many places experienced at the end of last week may be gone, but over
00:05the next few days plenty of sunshine for many and temperatures rising as a result, peaking
00:11on Thursday. Certainly a sunny afternoon out there for the vast majority, just some cloud
00:16building across eastern parts of England and thicker cloud in the far north and northwest
00:20of Scotland. Here a few outbreaks of light rain, perhaps into Lewes, Shetland, Orkney
00:25for example. Otherwise for the vast majority it's dry, it's bright and it's warm. It's
00:31warmer than Sunday for the south, certainly 22, 23 Celsius possible. You can see the low
00:3720s in the east of Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland. But into the evening we'll see the
00:43cloud thicken further into the far northwest of Scotland and then those outbreaks of light
00:48to moderate rain will push into the rest of Scotland as well as parts of Northern Ireland,
00:53fizzling out through the night I think and mostly it will be damp over western hills
00:57and coasts with some decent gaps in the rainfall emerging elsewhere. With the cloud cover for
01:03Scotland and Northern Ireland a milder night to come, 12 or 13 Celsius. Cooler conditions
01:07further south and actually some sheltered spots in the south of England for example
01:12could see low single figures. But a ridge of high pressure holds on, that ridge extending
01:18all the way from the mid-Atlantic across much of the UK. However, this occluded front, that's
01:23the feature bringing the cloud into Scotland and Northern Ireland so dull and in places
01:27damp starts to the day here. The cloud will tend to lift and break and so some brighter
01:33spells emerging. However, as this feature sinks south it will bring increased cloud
01:38cover to the likes of Northern England and could see the odd shower develop over the
01:43Pennines and more especially parts of eastern Scotland. A cooler day to come with the cloud
01:47cover for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the far north of England but with more sunshine
01:52on the cards for the rest of the UK for the southern half certainly temperatures will
01:56be climbing 25 Celsius for somewhere like London or perhaps Lincolnshire or up into
02:03Hull. Now, into Tuesday evening the cloud and the showers in the north tend to fade
02:09away, a dry night to come then for many. Clear spells once more in the south but temperatures
02:15are rising even by night as well so nights middle of this week will be increasingly warm
02:22and we'll keep you updated as always on what's going on with the weather this week on social media.
