00:00Hello there, welcome to a weather update into Thursday. Things look brighter in the north
00:05still with some showers, rather murky further south with outbreaks of rain from time to
00:09time. So let's put some detail on it for you. First of all, through Wednesday evening a
00:15rash of showers continues across Scotland associated with an area of low pressure which
00:20is tracking its way north-eastwards. So the winds will slowly ease inland and then we'll
00:24see some pulses of rain just clipping the far south of England. More cloud here and
00:28across southern counties even some fog overnight as cloud returns to Wales as well as the west
00:33country and eventually you'll see some outbreaks of rain slowly pulsing in from the south-west
00:37clipping the north-west of England. Eastern parts of England, eastern parts of Scotland
00:41that's where you'll like to see a frost. In fact, anywhere north of the central belt temperatures
00:45inland could dip as low as minus one to minus three degrees Celsius but a bright start to
00:50the day. Showers run in on a strong wind across the far north of Scotland clipping the far
00:54north-west as well. A few for the far north of Northern Ireland. Some brighter skies but
00:58then more cloud down towards Newry. That cloud extends towards Liverpool Bay and Manchester.
01:03Some outbreaks of rain to start the day. Fairly sporadic. You can see the rain extends down
01:07towards central southern England clipping mid and southern parts of Wales. Now towards
01:11the east that's where we'll see a cloudy start to the day. Even some low cloud and some fog.
01:16Poor visibility and rather chilly along that eastern strip there. Yorkshire up towards
01:20Northumberland. Now through the morning this cloud drifts across the sky. Low cloud at
01:26that. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle and then we see more persistent rain arriving across
01:30the far south and south-west through the afternoon. Showers stream in across the far north of
01:35Scotland on a strong wind. Again the western side seeing some of those but inland some
01:40brighter weather through the afternoon. Again the clouds will be patchy. And for Northern
01:44Ireland yes you'll see some brighter weather but still some showers across the north coast
01:48there. Temperatures then 7 in the north but a pulse of warm air comes up from the south
01:5212 or 13 across central and southern parts of England and Wales. Now you can see on Thursday
01:57night and into Friday it's cloudy outside. Still those showers running down the north
02:02and then more rain arrives from the south-west as the winds pick up some strength into Friday
02:07morning. Now this rain will track its way northwards through Friday. Friday across Scotland
02:12is going to be a cloudier day. Perhaps some brighter skies across the far north just for
02:16a time before that cloud gradually drifts towards these parts. So here's your outlook
02:20through Friday. Pretty much that rain moves its way northwards with some showers to follow
02:24and then all change for the weekend again. For the Christmas weekend it remains changeable
02:29bands of rain moving northwards, showers to follow and then eventually it turns colder
02:33from the north-west. Obviously we'll keep you posted here on all our social media channels.
02:38For now I'll say goodbye.
