00:00Hello and welcome to your forecast into Thursday. Here are your headlines. A
00:04window of brighter weather before more cloud and rain arrives from the west
00:09later. Backtrack to Wednesday evening and the remnants of Storm Barra continue to
00:14depart from the shores of the UK. Even so a lively evening with some strong winds
00:19gales for the far north east of Scotland showers here and that strong wind
00:22driving in showers across Northern Ireland western fringes of Scotland down
00:26towards North Wales North West England as well as the Midlands even some
00:30arriving across East Anglia. Now towards the north of that across the centre of
00:34that low which is filling which is decaying in itself we are expecting some
00:39clearer skies and that's where the lowest temperatures are likely to be
00:42through the early hours of the morning dipping down close to freezing if not
00:45below in one or two rural spots or a touch of frost could be possible first
00:50thing in the morning. But through the first part of tomorrow much of central
00:55and eastern Scotland will dawn bright and dry with some sunshine this week
00:59feature here across western Scotland bringing more clouds and some showery
01:02bits and pieces extending down towards the northwest of England but here this
01:06band of cloud and rain will tend to die out in situ. Now you can see this rain
01:10waiting in the wings but a mostly dry start for Northern Ireland Wales and the
01:14West Country and even some cloud breaks allowing some brighter weather to come
01:18through and where those cloud breaks occur they will extend their way
01:22eastwards through the day so an improving picture for much of central
01:26and eastern areas of England as this cloud band tends to die out and break up
01:31so even some sunshine further north that's not the case for Northern Ireland
01:34rain will arrive around lunchtime and that wet weather will extend towards
01:38western Scotland Wales the West Country eventually the Midlands as we head
01:41through the latter part of the day snow above around 300 meters across Scotland
01:45so at wet end to the day here with showers to follow across Northern Ireland
01:48and some dry skies to end daylight hours across more eastern areas
01:52temperatures then struggling wherever you are and that breeze will pick up
01:55towards the west a keen wind a strong wind associated with that weather front
01:59so that's a picture on the Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening the
02:03rain clears quite quickly towards the east so through the early hours of
02:07Friday morning and into Friday lunchtime we'll see some brighter skies some
02:10sunshine but a cold biting winds coming in from the northwest and also those
02:14showers particularly across western Scotland Northern Ireland and western
02:18fringes of England as well as Wales so here's your outlook as we head into the
02:21weekend further spells of rain are likely on Saturday showers to follow but
02:25Sunday is looking drier and perhaps a little less cold bye bye
