00:00Hello there. Welcome to your Wednesday morning forecast. This morning is probably the last
00:04morning where we'll see widespread sub-zero temperatures. But if you are stepping out,
00:09first thing, watch out for slippery surfaces. There are ice warnings in force and also some
00:14freezing fog patches which will be slow to clear. More cloud across Northern Ireland,
00:18the Isle of Man, a bit of a breeze here. Inland, again, the risk of fog across much of England.
00:23It will come and go and some low clouds associated with it as well. Mid Wales down to central
00:27southern England. But for many areas, it's a dry morning. It's a bright one. Wrap up warm if
00:32you're heading out and about and you may run into some freezing fog. The sunshine turns rather hazy
00:37as a veil of cloud extends across western parts of Scotland and some patchy rain then arrives
00:42through the morning across Northern Ireland, again with a keen breeze. Breezy across Wales,
00:46the West Country, across the far west there, you'll see some patchy rain as we head through
00:50the afternoon. Hanging on to dry weather across much of Britain and sunshine across the Eastern
00:55Strip through the afternoon as the rain intensifies across Northern Ireland into evening time.
01:00Temperatures then through the afternoon coming in around two to three degrees Celsius,
01:04but further west, a hint of something slightly milder. However, as this rain bashes into the
01:10cold air across Scotland, Northern England, we will see some snow, particularly over the higher
01:14ground. A rain warning overnight across Northern Ireland, some intense bursts here and then rain
01:18warnings kick in through the early hours of the morning for southwest Scotland, southern parts of
01:22Wales, as well as the West Country. So some high rainfall totals, even the risk of some localised
01:26flooding as the rain extends towards more eastern areas. And again, watch out for some snow over the
01:30high routes. So some tricky driving conditions come Thursday morning. It will be a cold morning,
01:35but not as cold as it has been. And by then we'll see some drier weather come in across Northern
01:40Ireland, although it will be a rather cloudy start to the day on Thursday. Elsewhere, rain just
01:45continues to pile in and notice towards the west. Another intense burst of rain arrives through the
01:51day across more western areas as the first batch pushes up towards eastern Scotland and the
01:56Northern Isles. A windy end to the day wherever you are on Thursday, but temperatures are trying
02:01to recover and watch out for these rain warnings, even one across eastern parts of Scotland where
02:06we could see up to 100 millimetres rain on Thursday over the high ground. See you later.
