00:00All change with our weather over the next 24 to 36 hours as rain moves in.
00:05Warnings for rain have been issued, more about that in a moment. For the time
00:08being it's bitter outside through Tuesday evening, watch out for ice. Ice
00:11warnings have been issued across Aberdeenshire as well as borders. Inland
00:15with a light breeze we could see some freezing fog forming anywhere across the
00:19central belt, down the spine of the country and across more southern areas
00:23mid Wales towards central southern England a mix of low clouds as well as
00:26some freezing fog. Now further west for Northern Ireland the wind will pick up
00:31some strength and eventually we'll see some cloud here to end the night.
00:36Elsewhere it's a bitter night, it's a very cold one with a severe frost, lowest
00:41temperatures across Scotland minus 6 minus 7 degrees Celsius even lower than
00:45that and that fog will linger on. Watch out for slippery surfaces, still some
00:49showers across Shetland as well as Orkney but dry elsewhere and a dry
00:53morning across northern England as well as the Midlands. Again you may run into
00:56some freezing fog, low clouds and freezing fog anywhere from mid Wales
01:00down towards central southern England but some brighter weather to start the
01:03day as well, some sunshine. Not the case for Northern Ireland, eventually you'll
01:07see some rain arrive across these parts through Wednesday morning and again
01:11quite a breeze here. So here's the first batch of rain just slowly nudging
01:16in. Elsewhere it's a bright morning, some sunshine away from the fog although
01:21sunshine turning rather hazy across western parts of Scotland and always
01:24more cloud across Wales, central southern England and the cloud will
01:27continue to thicken as the rain comes and goes across Northern Ireland
01:31through a lunchtime but notice towards the west it will intensify through the
01:36afternoon as the cloud continues to push in across the country. To end the day
01:40though, eastern counties seeing some sunshine and towards the west it's wet
01:45across Northern Ireland, patchy rain moving in across the southwest of Wales
01:48as well as West Country and nudging into the western side of Scotland. Wherever
01:52you are, temperatures on the low side but notice some milder values coming in
01:56across the far southwest. A rain warning overnight for Northern Ireland with that
01:59intense rain, some problems on the roads possibly as more rain warnings kick in
02:03into the early hours of the morning of Thursday across the southwest
02:07of Scotland, southern parts of Wales and the West Country. Again the risk of some
02:11intense bursts here. The rain turns to snow as it pushes across the cold air of
02:16northern Britain and what that means again problems on the roads particularly
02:20over the higher routes if you are traveling into Thursday morning and
02:23quite a breeze develops into Thursday as well. So here are your warning zones
02:28through the next few days. We have a rain warning into the early hours of Thursday
02:33morning for Northern Ireland. Rain warnings are southwest Scotland down
02:36towards the southwest and for the eastern side of Scotland we could see
02:40over the hills up to around 100 millimeters of rain. For more details of
02:44the warnings check out our website. So here's your bigger picture through
02:48Thursday. As that rain clears more rain moves in and this area of low pressure
02:52will bring gales for a time through Thursday and into Friday. Swirls of cloud
02:56outbreaks of rain and then it quietens down just for a brief time before through
03:01Saturday more cloud thickens and again some more wet weather as the winds pick
03:05up some strength so a breezy day on Saturday. Here's your city's list for
03:10Thursday. It's wet but notice these temperatures they are on the up so 7 to
03:1611 12 degrees Celsius so less cold into the weekend. I'll see you later.
