00:00Hello there, welcome to your Thursday update. Weather-wise today we have wind and rain warnings
00:06across Wales and southern parts of England, all associated with this cold front which
00:10is clearing through Thursday evening. Before that though, yes, the winds will whip and
00:15lash and that heavy rain will cause problems on the roads. Low pressure then across more
00:20western areas into Thursday night, again winds picking up before it clears towards the north
00:25and a slight ridge into Friday. Some drier conditions further south then all change
00:30on Saturday yet again. Let's backtrack to Thursday lunchtime, you can see this weather
00:35front covering much of Scotland, the spine of the country, those bright echoes representing
00:39some heavy bursts moving ever eastwards. So around evening time we'll see that rain approaching
00:46the east and associated with that rain will be some strong winds. High waves across Irish
00:51Sea coast as well as the Channel coast and then the winds pick up further through the
00:55evening and overnight towards the west. Certainly you'll notice that across Wales, some really
00:59strong winds, even gales for a time through the afternoon and temperatures around 10-12
01:04degrees Celsius. So that rain clears by around mid-evening, the south east, although you'll
01:09see some heavy bursts for Shetland and then this area of low pressure does track towards
01:14the north but it will deliver showers across the country through evening time and into
01:18the first part of the night. Showery into the first part of Friday as well across the
01:22north and the west of Scotland. Elsewhere a drier start to the day on Friday, still
01:27breezy with a touch of frost towards the north east of Scotland. Further west those showers
01:32continue through Friday extending towards Northern Ireland, a few just tracking across
01:36Northern England but they'll be few and far between. A drier day all round across England
01:41and Wales with some brighter skies and even for Scotland we'll see those winds easing
01:46a little bit through the afternoon and a higher chance of some drier and brighter weather.
01:50Temperatures then typically around 10-12 degrees Celsius. Now through Friday evening, quiet
01:56across England and Wales yet again. A few showers just tracking in across west Wales
02:00and also for the north west of the country. Here's your outlook through Saturday. Pretty
02:05much a dry start in the east, rain sweeps in from the west and then the rain stores
02:09across the south east on Sunday with showers to follow. I'll see you later.
