Transcript
00:00More sunshine on offer for many tomorrow, away from a showery zone of wet weather which
00:06just continues through the day across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England, although
00:10it will tend to fragment as we head through Wednesday afternoon.
00:14And then all eyes are on the South West. This developing area of low pressure will track
00:18from Wales and the West Country, moving eastwards through Thursday. So gales, outbreaks of rain,
00:24the rain spilling towards Northern Ireland, Northern England, more cloud across southern
00:28parts of Scotland, some showers across eastern Scotland through the day on Thursday. Notice
00:32this low though just moves towards the low countries as we head through the last part
00:36of Thursday and into Friday morning. Backtrack to Tuesday evening and it's wet across Scotland.
00:41A strong wind across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland delivering some showers here.
00:46A few showers continue anywhere from Yorkshire northwards. Further south, some clearer skies
00:50mid Wales, Midlands, East Anglia, the South East, but a bit of a breeze down towards the
00:55West Country. Again, you could see a few showers across the peninsula, southern parts
00:59of Wales. Temperatures holding up generally, although frost to start the day across the
01:02far north of Scotland. First thing then on Wednesday morning, let's pick up on this rain.
01:07So this strong wind continues to bring with it some intense bursts of rain across the
01:11South West of Scotland, clipping Northern Ireland, North West England. Showery bursts
01:16of rain tend to fragment across the Grampians, Angus as well as Aberdeenshire down towards
01:20border regions. To the south, we'll see some sunny skies and just one or two isolated showers
01:26and towards the north. Yes, some brighter weather as well, albeit rather chilly. Now
01:31through the afternoon, the winds will tend to ease across England and Wales, but still
01:34a bit of a breeze running across Pennine districts from the South West of Scotland and still
01:39some showery bursts of rain here as we head into Wednesday evening. Temperatures then
01:43typically around 9 to 11 degrees Celsius. Now through Wednesday evening and overnight,
01:49a legacy of clouds across central and southern parts of Scotland, eastern counts of England,
01:54where we could see still a little bit of wet weather, but not a lot. Clearer skies elsewhere,
02:00certainly a frost across central and northern areas of Scotland as temperatures dip down
02:02to around minus 2, minus 3 degrees Celsius. And thickening cloud brings outbreaks of rain
02:07to the south west of England, central southern England, as well as Wales through the early
02:11hours of the morning. It's going to be a chilly start to the day on Thursday. Northern Ireland,
02:15the Midlands, northern England, quite cold here, even some pockets of frost to start
02:20the day. And then it turns wet and windy. Now we are likely to see gales across the
02:25west country, even the south coast through the morning. So this rain could intensify
02:30further as it spills towards southern parts of Yorkshire, covering much of Wales as well
02:35as Northern Ireland. Some showers running in across eastern parts of Scotland through
02:39the day. Brighter skies though across the north west of Scotland. So all in all, yes,
02:43more wet and windy weather. It does clear off the scene. And that means on Friday,
02:47a better day all round, a lighter breeze, just a few showers.
