00:00Hello there. Welcome to your Friday weather update. Now, through the next 12 hours, still
00:05some showery bursts of rain around. We could even see some higher rainfall totals towards
00:10the east. Low pressure across the UK. This one here is sliding down towards the low countries.
00:16A little bit of a stronger wind associated with it. Elsewhere, weather fronts just floating
00:20across the sky, introducing more cloud outbreaks of rain and some heavier showers towards the
00:25east. Let's pick up on that low pressure system through today then. You can see it's
00:30just bringing with it some outbreaks of rain, which could turn heavy, particularly for the
00:34Channel Islands, and it's pushing up towards the central and southern parts of England
00:38and Wales. Another batch of rain extends from northern England towards northern parts of
00:43Wales. Some heavier bursts through the afternoon along the eastern side. The breeze picks up
00:47for a time, particularly across the west country. Elsewhere, it's pretty much sunshine and showers,
00:52although some thicker clouds through the first part of the afternoon across central
00:55parts of Scotland towards the northeast of England. But you will see the brighter weather
01:00coming through towards the west. A keen breeze for Shetland, brighter skies for Orkney. But
01:05this rain here will be fairly persistent across much of England and east Wales through the
01:10afternoon. Notice these brighter echoes across the eastern side, giving some intense bursts.
01:15Winds fairly light here, not much forcing on this area of rain. But elsewhere, you can
01:20see some sunshine will come through in between some heavy showers. Temperatures, though,
01:24still struggling 11 or 12 degrees Celsius at the very best. Now, through this evening
01:29and overnight, this area of more persistent rain pushes very slowly towards the east.
01:35And you can see again, we could see some higher rainfall totals towards the southeast, clearer
01:39skies elsewhere, a lighter breeze for Northern Ireland, western Scotland, a chance of a frost
01:44here. More of a breeze just pushing down across Wales and the west country, mixing the air
01:48up a little bit. Temperatures along the coast around five, but we could see a three inland
01:53and here hanging on to five or six degrees Celsius under a covering of clouds. And also
01:57that rain anywhere from Lincolnshire towards Kent. This rain slides down towards the low
02:03countries through Saturday morning. The cloud then breaks a little bit, but with a little
02:08bit of sunshine coming through, we'll see one or two quite heavy showers through the
02:12afternoon, brighter skies across more western parts of the country. And that's where the
02:17highest temperatures will be. Fifteen degrees Celsius feeling pleasant in that sunshine
02:21before the cloud thickens from the west. Later on in the day, come Sunday morning, you see
02:27that cloud has brought with it some outbreaks of rain, particularly across western parts
02:30of Scotland, down towards Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, and perhaps a little bit
02:34of rain just fringing western parts of Wales through the afternoon, though. Brightest skies
02:38further east, always the chance of some rain further west. But where you see the sunshine,
02:43temperatures could reach 17 or 18 degrees Celsius, feeling pleasantly warm, all courtesy
02:48of a flow coming in from the southwest. That ridge extends then into the first part of
02:53next week before we become under the influence of a Scandinavian high, delivering a southeasterly
02:59or easterly breeze and bringing with it more in the way of clouds. So warmest there possibly
03:03on Monday, with temperatures peaking around 18 or 19 degrees Celsius cooler along the
03:08coast through midweek next week. Bye bye.
