00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Blue sky and
00:04sunshine through the next few days with some chilly mornings and warm
00:08afternoons. However, through Thursday evening it's turning cold outside. Any
00:13showers across the country dying away, away from the far north of Scotland
00:17where we continue to see a keen breeze. And under starry skies and falling
00:22temperatures, mist and fog will form across England and Wales and it's likely
00:25to turn widespread if not dense across some parts. But it will be a cold end to
00:31the night, a fairly widespread frost with temperatures dipping down close to
00:35freezing if not below. Certainly for the glens of Scotland we could see a value
00:38of around minus 5, minus 6 degrees Celsius to start the day but that will
00:43be coupled with some lovely sunshine. Sunshine extends across much of the
00:46country. We run into this dense fog anywhere from the Midlands, mid Wales
00:50down towards the West Country, central southern England. However, it should lift
00:54quite quickly. The air is dry so a brightening picture here. So through the
00:59day on Friday, lots of blue sky, plenty of sunshine. The sunshine could turn hazy
01:04towards the west of Scotland as we see more high cloud here and certainly quite
01:09a breeze across the Western Isles. Even so, everywhere remains dry through the
01:13afternoon and that really will help temperatures up very nicely as we head
01:17through the middle part of the day. So temperatures coming in around 12 or 13
01:21for Scotland and Northern Ireland. However, we could see values peaking
01:25around 16 to 18 degrees Celsius across mid Wales down towards the southeast of
01:31England. So that's the picture on Friday, a bright end to the working week. The
01:36broader picture through the weekend, high pressure extends from the east. Quite a
01:41breeze on Saturday, certainly you'll feel the difference but it will be warm in
01:45the afternoon. Come Sunday, this feature here slowly migrates from the southeast
01:49up towards the north come Monday, bringing with it a little showery rain.
01:53So cooler on Sunday, we lose more of the wind, we gain more clouds towards the
01:57southeast, even some showery rain. But then things do resume a quieter and
02:01settle spell through next week. So here's your city's list for Saturday. Again,
02:05temperatures the mid-teens. But watch out, UV levels are likely to be moderate. Come
02:09Sunday, yes, some showery rain towards the southeast. Still bright and dry across
02:13many parts and temperatures not as high. So all in all, yes, a fine weekend to come.
02:17Watch out for the wind as we head through to Saturday and certainly a
02:21little showery rain on Sunday. Next week turns warmer and drier yet again. Bye bye.
