00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. It settles down quite
00:04nicely into the weekend, still rather breezy but certainly some warmth in the air. For
00:09the time being though, Wednesday into Thursday things turn a lot colder. Rain across eastern
00:14counties of England will clear, taking the strongest winds with it. And inland we'll
00:18see fairly starry skies, a lighter breeze, but cast your eyes towards the North West.
00:24Certainly for the Western Isles and Northern Ireland the cloud will thicken here with some
00:27showery bursts of rain through the early hours of the morning and a strengthening
00:31wind. Elsewhere a fairly widespread frost, leading into a cold start to the day come
00:36Thursday morning, but for many it will be bright with some sunshine. Not the case across
00:41western Scotland, you can see some heavy bursts of rain, snow above around 6-700m. That rain
00:46extends down towards Northern Ireland, but for the bulk of England and Wales and eastern
00:50Scotland some sunshine to start Thursday. But if you're stepping out you'll notice
00:55the air temperature. Yes it will be chilly. So through the day much of England and Wales
00:59will remain dry and bright with some sunshine. However this first band of rain moves quite
01:04quickly from the west towards the east, covering much of Scotland, clipping the far north of
01:09England and even the far north west of Wales for a time. And then another band moves in
01:14again from the north west. Some heavy bursts come through the afternoon, strong winds and
01:18again a little bit of wintryness over the higher ground of the highlands. This rain
01:23then pushes down towards border regions and again clips Northumberland as well as Cumbria,
01:28covering much of Isle of Man, Gwynedd, even Anglesey. Showers will follow across the north
01:33and the west of Scotland with a keen breeze here, but a fine and dry end to the day across
01:38England and Wales. Now temperatures are on the up over the next few days. You can see
01:43here on Friday most places will be fine and dry with some lovely sunshine. However into
01:47the weekend high pressure routed across Denmark will allow for some settled conditions to
01:52extend right across the UK. But some stronger winds on Saturday, certainly gusty over the
01:57hills, the moors as well as the mountains. But with a southerly wind it's going to feel
02:00very warm across some parts, particularly I'd say the Moray Firth where we could see
02:04an 18. Generally speaking the weekend's looking fine and dry, much warmer with some sunshine,
02:09cooler on Sunday and perhaps more cloud towards more southern counties. I'll see you later.
