00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.
00:04It settles down through Friday and into the weekend with some good spells of sunshine,
00:09although quite a breeze for the time being. We do have a slow moving weather front currently,
00:14that's through Tuesday evening and into the early hours of Wednesday morning,
00:17straddling Scotland and Northern Ireland. But it is clearing from the northwest,
00:21so we could see some fog patches for central and western areas of Northern Ireland,
00:24even a touch of frost here, and one or two showers filing in across western Scotland
00:28with a wintry element. Ahead of this rain band, more cloud temperatures holding up,
00:32and even a little rain to start the day. The rain band through Wednesday morning
00:37will be across eastern Scotland, down towards the central belt of Scotland.
00:41Further west, yes a brighter start to the day, lots of showers across the western hours,
00:46a few just pushing in across mainland Scotland. A bright start for Northern Ireland,
00:51although a chilly one, again with one or two fog patches. You see where the rain is,
00:55covering much of the Isle of Man, pushing in across Ceredigion, Gwynedd as well,
00:59Cumbria seeing that rain, and even some rain just developing ahead of it across the Midlands
01:04as well as the south east. So through the day, this band of rain continues just to push down
01:09across England and Wales. It's a slow moving feature, so expect some rain just coming and going
01:13as we head into the afternoon. Brighter skies then emerge later on for West Wales,
01:18perhaps even Cornwall and Devon, but certainly a bright end to the day for Northern Ireland
01:22and the western half of Scotland, as the rain just pulses Aberdeenshire and borders
01:27as we head through the afternoon, but even here we'll see some drier weather.
01:30Typical temperatures then around 9 or 10, Scotland and Northern Ireland 13 across England and Wales,
01:35perhaps a 14 in any brighter spots towards the south west of Wales later.
01:39Here's your outlook through Thursday. Still a little unsettled towards the north and the west,
01:44with some showery bursts, but a little sunshine coming through in Shelter.
01:49Dry skies across England and Wales, and high pressure really asserts itself through Friday
01:53and into the weekend, but notice quite a squeeze on the isobars, and hence the reason into the weekend
01:58winds will pick up some strength, but certainly it's going to be dry and fine
02:03with some good spouts of sunshine. One thing to note though, on Friday morning
02:07watch out for some fog patches first thing. Here's your summary, and obviously we'll keep you posted
02:11on all our social media channels.
