00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.
00:04For most, it's fairly quiet over the next few days, a few showers lurking around, clouds
00:09drifting across the sky and the chance of some rain towards the north as well as the
00:12west.
00:13The air remains fairly cool towards the east through the next 24 hours, but high pressure
00:19extends from the southwest.
00:21Any weather fronts moving in will be weakened by this anti-cyclone, however on Thursday
00:26and into Friday, this cold front could trigger one or two sharp showers for the end of the
00:32working week, but temperatures relatively will be on the warm side if you catch some
00:37sunshine.
00:38Now, for the time being, that's Tuesday evening, there are still a few showers out there, anywhere
00:44from borders, eastern counties of England, across Pennine districts, perhaps one or two
00:48floating across the Irish Sea coast and a driving wind coming in across Shetland as
00:54well as Orkney.
00:56At the same time, the cloud will thicken across western Scotland and here we could
01:00see a little bit of patchy rain as we head into Wednesday morning.
01:04Under clearer skies, temperatures will be single figures and in fact some pockets of
01:07frost can't be ruled out, particularly towards the northeast of Scotland.
01:11For the west, a relatively mild start to the day as the cloud continues to thicken and
01:16the wind picks up further strength.
01:17A bit of a cloudy start for northern counties down towards the Midlands, but the cloud will
01:22break here and through the afternoon we could just about see a scattering of showers extending
01:27towards the southeast.
01:29Some fine weather elsewhere, the sunshine rather hazy as this rain skirts the far north
01:33and west of Scotland and again with a driving wind.
01:36Now, for much of the country, it's a fine day.
01:40Temperatures will reach around 16 to 18, 19 degrees Celsius, a little cooler along this
01:45east coast and as I said, the cloud will come and go, so it will be patchy, we're not expecting
01:50water will blue sky and sunshine, but even so, some fine weather.
01:55Now through Wednesday evening and overnight, this rain tends to push down towards Aberdeenshire,
02:00again it will be light and patchy.
02:03Elsewhere the clouds will come and go, we could see again temperatures dipping down
02:06to low single figures, but always more breeze towards the north as well as the west where
02:11through Thursday, slowly but surely, another weather front comes in.
02:15It's pretty much a showery rain which will just come and go with that breeze as well.
02:20Elsewhere, hazy sunshine through much of the day, one or two isolated showers, most places
02:26will be fine and dry as temperatures climb very nicely to around 16, 19, 20 degrees Celsius.
02:32The mid teens for the western side and a little rain across the western part of Northern Ireland,
02:37drier further south and east.
02:38Here's your city's list for Friday, watch out for some sharp showers across England
02:43and Wales, mostly dry further north and west.
02:45I'll see you later.
