00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.

00:03Tuesday will be a windy day, but bright for some and dry for many

00:08before rain arrives across more western areas.

00:10Now through Monday evening it's going to turn cold.

00:13It's going to be a windy night as well.

00:15Winds towards the north-west as well as the north-east

00:17could actually touch near Galeforce for a time.

00:20A fleeting shower or two can't be ruled out towards the far south-west

00:24but inland, as that cloud breaks up, temperatures fall quite quickly.

00:28So expect a fairly widespread frost, lowest temperatures

00:31northern counts of England, particularly in rural spots,

00:34central parts of Scotland coming in around minus three or minus four degrees Celsius.

00:38But despite a frosty start, it will be a bright one.

00:41Certainly across much of Scotland you'll see some bright weather, if not some sunshine.

00:45Still that driving wind coming in from the south though.

00:47Northern Ireland's seeing more in the way of clouds and some patchy clouds

00:50for Wales as well as the west country, but a crisp start to the day

00:54further east with some sunshine.

00:57And then we watch through Tuesday as the drier and brighter weather

01:01becomes confined to central and eastern areas of Scotland as well as England

01:05as the cloud thickens from the west.

01:07And eventually we'll see some rain arrive across Cornwall as well as Devon,

01:11Pembrokeshire, Northern Ireland, and by the end of the day, western Scotland.

01:15Now this rain will be heavy at times, coupled with the wind

01:18which will touch Galeforce, particularly across the north-west of Scotland.

01:22Gusts along the western isles could actually peak at 60 miles an hour

01:26so a windy day, a lively day, but a bright one for central and eastern areas

01:30as temperatures rise to around 9 to 12 Celsius, so certainly higher than Monday.

01:35So that's the picture on Tuesday.

01:37Come Wednesday, a slow moving weather front across more western areas

01:41will bring more heavy rain.

01:43Winds will be strong towards the south as well as the east,

01:45but also some brighter weather coming through.

01:47And towards the end of the week, things remain changeable.
