00:00Hello again. After another cold morning, it's a dry and bright afternoon for many places,
00:06but not for all. The best of the sunshine will be across much of Scotland, Northern
00:10and Eastern England, where, in places, clear blue skies are expected for the rest of the
00:15day. But further west, the clouds will thicken during the afternoon, and some outbreaks of
00:20rain will start to move in, along with a freshening breeze, and gales will develop around Irish
00:26Sea coasts, Northern Ireland, Western Scotland, as well as Northern Scotland. Nevertheless,
00:32it's going to be a bit milder, with temperatures reaching 12 or 13 Celsius towards the east
00:36and south-east of England. Into the evening, and the rain pushes through, but it really
00:44turns to showers by the evening, and some heavy downpours for a time for Western Scotland
00:48and Northern Ireland. Then the band of rain and showers ease by the end of the night,
00:53leaving a legacy of low cloud across eastern parts of the UK by dawn. Further west, clear
00:59spells developing, and in some sheltered spots, temperatures will dip to one or two Celsius,
01:04so perhaps a touch of ground frost, but generally enough of a breeze to avoid a widespread frost.
01:12Into the start of Wednesday, another front is approaching. Now, the ice bars squeeze
01:16together ahead of this front, so it turns very windy in the west, and especially the
01:20north-west for a time, and the heavy rain stalls as well as it pushes into Western Scotland
01:27and Northern Ireland, so wet and windy start here, gales or severe gales for the Western
01:31Isles, Northern Isles as well, and gusts for exposed coasts of 60 miles an hour. The rain
01:37really lasts much of the day for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland, eventually pushing
01:40into West Wales as well as the south-west, but ahead of it, eastern areas staying dry
01:46and bright once again, but with a bit more cloud, and a milder day to come with temperatures
01:53reaching 13 or 14 Celsius fairly widely. The wind eases away as the rain pushes into central
02:00parts of the UK during Wednesday afternoon and into the evening, and at this stage, the
02:05rain is cooling things off across the higher parts of Scotland, so above 300 or 400 metres,
02:10we're likely to see a spell of snow later on Wednesday. Some slushy deposits over the
02:16hills and mountains, but eventually the front clears, and that front eases away by Thursday
02:22to lead to another largely dry and bright day with lighter winds, and it will be mild
02:29once again, especially in the east and south-east.
