00:00Hi there and welcome to the latest update from the Met Office. Cloudy skies for most
00:04of us during the rest of Monday. Some rain in the north and west, especially western
00:09Scotland as well as Northern Ireland as these weather fronts arrive. Tied into this area
00:13of low pressure that's heading towards Iceland. Ice abuts tighten up as well so a breezy and
00:18wet afternoon to come for north-western areas whilst towards the south-east still a ridge
00:23of high pressure and ahead of the weather fronts even some sunshine for East Anglia,
00:28Lincolnshire and the south-east. But the cloud does thicken elsewhere and there'll
00:32be outbreaks of light rain and drizzle for parts of Wales and the south-west. More persistent
00:38and at times heavier rain for northern England, much of Scotland and for a while Northern
00:43Ireland. It's also breezy but that breeze coming in from the south-west in between the
00:47weather fronts a slice of mild Atlantic air and temperatures up to 15 or 16 Celsius somewhere
00:53like the Moray coast. Still on the cold side for East Anglia and the south-east despite
00:57the sunnier skies here. The breeze picks up further in the north and west as we head
01:02into Monday night. Some persistent wet weather for Northern Ireland and western Scotland
01:06for a time but this cold front now sinks south through the night so it does clear up across
01:11northern Scotland and here temperatures dipping down to well one or two Celsius in one or
01:17two places but further south a much milder night to come with those temperatures holding
01:22up at 8 to 12 degrees. With the cloud and the breeze it's a mild start then for England
01:27and Wales as well as much of southern Scotland. The weather front across central areas tends
01:33to sit in place for northern England, much of Wales, a lot of low cloud and some outbreaks
01:39of generally light rain and drizzle. Further south-east some sunshine for south-east England
01:44and a mild day to come here with highs of 15 or 16 Celsius. But to the north Scotland
01:50and Northern Ireland the rain is replaced by a keen breeze and blustery showers. Those
01:54showers are most frequent for western Scotland as well as parts of northern and western Northern
01:59Ireland. Blustery breeze pushes those showers through, some sunshine in between but further
02:04south the cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain continue across central areas and we could
02:09see some more persistent rain turning up on Tuesday night as well. But it stays mild in
02:14the south and for all areas by Thursday it starts to brighten up again with plenty of
02:20sunny spells before more rain in the northwest on Friday. Follow us on social media and we'll
02:24keep you updated on all the latest. Bye bye.
