00:00Hello, good morning. It's a bit chilly out there this morning for many of us, but actually
00:06plenty of bright weather on offer as well. Best of any sunshine across the Midlands,
00:10East Anglia, South East England, also parts of eastern Scotland, although some mist and
00:13fog to watch out for first thing. That will clear and following that cold start of the
00:18day, well actually for many it is a largely bright day, but quite a number of showers
00:24initially in the west will transfer eastwards through the day, chance of a shower or two
00:29popping up in the east by the afternoon, but it is here where we will see the best
00:33chance of any drier and brighter insolutes. Meanwhile, having seen quite a number of frequent
00:37and in places heavy showers early in the day in the west, well the showers do tend to ease
00:42a little in the afternoon, although again always the chance of the odd one for the likes
00:47of western Scotland and Northern Ireland, and more especially northwest England will
00:51see again quite a feed of showers throughout the day. Now away from the showers with any
00:56sunny spells, not feeling too unpleasant, temperatures aren't straying far from average
01:01for the time of year, and the wind will ease a little into the afternoon as a ridge of
01:06high pressure builds across the UK. That's helping to kill off a few of those showers,
01:10but it's only temporary. Next weather system comes through overnight, that's going to bring
01:14a spell of wet weather, especially during tomorrow morning. Once that clears through
01:17we're back to, well sunny spells and showers for many, but the showers will be most frequent
01:22with a gusty wind expected on Thursday. Back to Tuesday evening though, and you can see
01:29that the showers tend to fade away, especially across central and eastern parts with lengthy
01:33clear spells developing anywhere from say southwest England towards northeast England
01:40and eastern Scotland, seeing those clear spells for a time overnight. As that happens temperatures
01:44will fall away. We keep the coldest and clearest conditions in the northeast, and for parts
01:50of eastern England as we begin Wednesday, a touch of frost in one or two spots. Elsewhere
01:54temperatures rise through the night as it turns cloudier, wetter and windier, that wind
02:00picking up some strength around the western isles for example, risk of gales for exposed
02:04parts of western Scotland, and touching gale force for some of the most exposed Irish sea
02:10coasts as well. And it's a damp start actually for western parts of the UK, that rain just
02:15clearing northern Ireland, but it's a mild start where we've got the wet and breezy weather.
02:20Colder further east as I mentioned, a touch of frost possible for the likes of northeast Scotland.
02:26The rain moves through, and really for most places we'll see that rain during the morning,
02:30an unpleasant early morning rush, and eventually by the afternoon that rain does clear away.
02:37Brightening skies follow, but also quite a number of showers, and these showers will
02:41be lively with a gusty wind. Once more approaching gale force around exposed western and northern
02:46coasts, and the rain as it clears will be heavy with a blustery breeze for a time.
02:51But as it does clear, well actually we'll see largely fine conditions through central
02:55parts and northeastern parts of England towards the southwest as well. Temperatures reaching
03:0013 or 14 Celsius in the south, more likely earlier than later I think, because we've
03:06got colder air following the front, and as a result we'll see some snow coming out of
03:10the showers over the hills and mountains of Scotland. We keep the showery theme through
03:15Thursday and Friday, a little bit drier and brighter at the start of the weekend before
03:21further areas of low pressure turn up later on. Bye bye.
