00:00Hi there. For the UK as a whole, sunny spells and showers sums it up.
00:04But for some places the emphasis very much will be on the sunny spells aspect of that, for other areas
00:09the emphasis will be on the showers aspect and in fact
00:12it won't feel like showers for some places like, for example, parts of North West England through Liverpool, Manchester,
00:19Lancashire, Cheshire.
00:21Longer spells of rain as these frequent showers push in. Western Scotland likewise quite a number of longer spells of rain are
00:29expected as the showers band together.
00:31And in the West some of these showers will be lively, quite heavy rates and there's a chance of hail and thunder falling as well.
00:39Conversely, further south and east fewer showers, some places staying dry and seeing sunny spells and
00:47actually, it's not feeling too unpleasant with the sunny spells, although there is a keen breeze from the West North West.
00:53So that's going to make it feel a bit cooler,
00:56even if temperatures are a degree or so above average for the time of year.
01:00Then into the evening the showers band together for a time across western parts of Scotland, this clump
01:06following into southeastern parts of Scotland for a time. Also across the Pennines quite a number of showers and
01:12parts of Wales, South West England, Northern Ireland. But towards the east and southeast as well as parts of eastern Scotland
01:18we're going to see some clear spells, an easing of the winds and as a result
01:24one or two mist and fog patches are possible, most especially parts of northeast Scotland where temperatures in some sheltered glens could dip to minus 2
01:32Celsius, so a touch of frost. Low single figures possible through the Midlands, East Anglia,
01:36Southeast England. So fresh start here, although there'll be plenty of sunshine on offer in this part of the UK. Elsewhere showers continuing to feed in
01:44on that brisk West North Westerly breeze. Once again, it's western areas during Tuesday morning most affected by the showers,
01:52but the emphasis I think shifting further east as the day progresses. The showers easing a little in the west by the end of the afternoon.
02:00The odd shower popping up further east. Once again, it's parts of Northwest England seeing the most frequent showers,
02:05but perhaps not quite as much as Monday afternoon, particularly as you get towards the end of Tuesday afternoon.
02:1112 to 13 Celsius in the south, 10 or 11 further north, so not far from average for the time of year.
02:19Then into Tuesday evening,
02:21showers die away more widely and with lighter winds,
02:25there will be more widely some mist and fog forming particularly across central, eastern and northern parts of the UK.
02:32But the winds are picking up already by Tuesday evening and the rain is starting to arrive in the west.
02:38This weather front sweeps through overnight and into Wednesday morning wet start for many, but it does clear away during the afternoon.
02:44And then once again, we've got low pressure to the north or northwest of the UK and bands of showers pushing in for Thursday.
02:51And again, the showers will be most frequent in the west. Best of any sunny spells will be further east.
02:57So brightening up after a spell of midweek rain and we'll keep you updated.
03:03We'll add more detail to that, of course, with the week ahead forecast, which you can find on our YouTube channel later on Monday.
