00:00Hello again. A dull and damp day for many places as an area of low cloud and outbreaks
00:07of light to moderate rain move north. Associated with this frontal system a relatively weak
00:13area but nevertheless it is pushing north. High pressure influence moving away but still
00:20northern Scotland staying dry and bright. Plenty of sunshine for the far north of the
00:24mainland and the northern isles but elsewhere extensive low cloud moving north. Outbreaks
00:30of rain drizzle persistent over western hills but on and off elsewhere I think and for the
00:35east of England at times a little drier and brighter. But increasingly windy and not feeling
00:41very pleasant under the rain and drizzle. It will be mild in the south west, 11-13 Celsius
00:46here and feeling a little milder there in the north as well where we've got the brightest
00:51skies, 10 Celsius possible. Otherwise it's 7 and 8 degrees, grey leaden skies and an
00:57increased breeze. Gales developing for exposed parts of the western isles. And you can see
01:03the rain extends as far north as the north of Scotland into Orkney by the evening. Staying
01:09clear of Shetland and clearing up a little for parts of Northern Ireland as well as the
01:14southeast. In fact it's less extensive as far as low cloud is concerned overnight because
01:21there will be some drier and clearer spells coming into the southeast as well as Northern
01:25Ireland. But for western parts of Scotland, western England and west Wales it's damp and
01:33it's a mild start to Thursday if a rather gloomy start for many. Increasingly the low
01:38cloud will become confined into this frontal zone which will bring persistent rain to parts
01:43of western and central Scotland as well as western England into the midlands by the afternoon.
01:50But brighter skies for the east of England, especially east Anglia and the southeast.
01:54Some sunshine here and sunny spells pushing into Northern Ireland and later western Scotland,
01:59west Wales and the southwest. So it's really the central spine of the UK where it stays
02:04dull and damp into the afternoon. A mild day for many, 11 or 12 Celsius, perhaps 13 in
02:09the southeast if we get enough sunshine. It's less windy compared to Wednesday but
02:16it's certainly going to be still quite breezy. Much more on social media. Bye bye.
