00:00Hi there and welcome to the latest national weather forecast from the UK.
00:04Fine once again this afternoon for eastern parts of the UK but the clouds
00:08are gathering in the west ahead of this weather front which is really slowing
00:12down as it pushes into Western Scotland, Northern Ireland during the rest of the
00:16day and the isobars squeezing together ahead of the front has meant that it's a
00:21windy start to Wednesday across Western Scotland, Northern Ireland, gales in
00:26places. The gales ease as the front pushes through, the brighter colours
00:30there you can see that's the weather front and as that clears through the
00:35temperatures drop away and so snow falling on the back edge of the front
00:40across higher parts of central Scotland and feeling much colder in the
00:44northwest. Ahead of it though because this is a slow-moving front well it
00:49stays bright with sunny spells for the east and north of England 13 perhaps 14
00:53Celsius but for Wales and the southwest well it's a damp end to the day with
00:57that rain finally arriving and you can see the slow progress of the front
01:02through the night in fact it basically stalls across central parts of the
01:06country but the rain and hill snow eases it tends to peter out in many places
01:10clear spells ahead but mild 7 to 10 Celsius colder behind with a touch of
01:15frost for the northwest of Scotland and Northern Ireland under any clear spells.
01:20A bright start in the far north northwest as we begin that Thursday
01:23bright start also for the south and sunny spells here at times through the
01:28day but for Northern England Scotland outbreaks of rain with that old front
01:31decaying for a time and then further showers pushing up from the south into
01:36central southern England by the end of the afternoon. Another mild day for many
01:4113 or 14 Celsius in the southeast 9 or 10 further northwest the breeze picks up
01:46once again by the end of the afternoon ahead of this more coherent band of rain
01:50which is arriving as we say goodbye to Thursday and that wet and windy weather
01:56is going to cross the UK during Friday so the weather stays mixed with bands of
02:01rain moving in from the west and it looks like it's going to be increasingly
02:05windy through the weekend as well we'll keep you updated on these social media
02:09channels bye bye
