00:00Hi there, it's the last widely settled day across the UK, the first signs of a change,
00:06large amounts of high and medium cloud out there this afternoon, with still some brightness
00:11showing through but the sunshine rather hazy for the vast majority and some thicker cloud
00:15there across central and north-west Scotland with some outbreaks of mainly light rain moving
00:20their way northwards. Elsewhere it's dry but we've got that medium high level cloud dimming
00:26the sunshine and we've got a brisk breeze from the east limiting temperatures on the
00:31North Sea coast, 12-14C, the highest temperatures likely further west, 18-19C and it's going
00:38to be fairly blustery, increasingly the breeze will pick up during the second half of the
00:42day especially around the higher parts of Western England and Wales, some quite gusty
00:47winds expected here and downwind of the higher ground as well. The outbreaks of light rain
00:53across north-west Scotland drift further north-east into Orkney by the end of the
00:57night. Elsewhere across the UK it's largely dry through the night, just some showers possibly
01:02spreading into the south-west by the end and the breeze picking up as well, so of course
01:07that's going to stir the air up, keeping things generally frosty although a touch of frost
01:11wouldn't be ruled out for some sheltered and clearer parts of Scotland, Northern England
01:16and Northern Ireland. Then into Thursday, a breezy day for most of us especially across
01:22some of these western areas. It's going to start off bright but increasingly we're going
01:26to see some showery rain push into Cornwall, then into Devon, parts of South Wales by the
01:31afternoon, some heavy bursts with this. Ahead of that still some sunny spells showing through
01:36but again a lot of high cloud about, however we've also got warmer air drifting north-eastwards
01:41so temperatures a little higher through the central and south-eastern parts, 19-20C possible
01:47although still held back across the coasts of north-east England and eastern Scotland,
01:519-13C and the breeze from the North Sea is going to pick up through the day as well on
01:57Thursday. So a gusty day and with these showers across Wales and the south-west they're going
02:02to move their way northwards. Increasingly longer spells of rain as well and some showers
02:07perhaps breaking out into the south-east by the end of the afternoon and into the evening
02:11as well. Further north largely dry but increasingly cloudy skies and really the weather turns
02:17more and more unsettled after that. Into Friday a very showery day, some heavy downpours,
02:22some thunderstorms possible in places. Saturday likewise low pressure moving in from the south-west
02:27will bring showers or longer spells of rain, especially towards south-western parts in
02:31the morning drifting their way north-eastwards during the afternoon. And Sunday, Monday likewise
02:37heavy showers out there but there will be in between those showers some spells of warm
02:42sunshine still.
