Transcript
00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.
00:03Settled through the rest of April with some chilly nights, but temperatures will recover
00:08into the weekend.
00:09You'll certainly notice the difference along the east coast.
00:12The broader picture, high pressure extends down from the north across much of the UK
00:16through Wednesday, a light breeze.
00:18The air though is rather chilly, so expect a frost first thing across one or two rural
00:22spots.
00:23And then through the next few days, it remains in place, keeping any weather fronts at bay
00:27coming in from the west or the south.
00:29But then we will see an invasion of clouds and some rain as we head through the weekend
00:32across the far north-west.
00:33For the time being, that's Tuesday into Wednesday, things look fairly quiet.
00:39A small chance of a shower along this east coast, particularly Lincolnshire, East Anglia
00:43where we see a bit of a breeze inland, clearer skies, starry skies at that, and it's going
00:48to turn cold.
00:50So temperatures dipping down close to freezing, but in one or two rural spots, we could see
00:55values as low as around minus one to minus four degrees Celsius.
00:58Certainly the southern uplands, Northumberland, Cumbria, as well as the glens of Scotland.
01:04So it will be a chilly start to the day come Wednesday morning, but a bright one with some
01:10sunshine or clouds through the morning across western Scotland and certainly Northern Ireland
01:15seeing a little bit more in the way of low clouds.
01:17Elsewhere, fine with some blue sky and sunshine, but notice towards the eastern side of the
01:23country across the North Sea.
01:25This cloud here with that breeze again on shore will deliver this cloud and it will
01:29move inland through the morning into the afternoon.
01:32Still rather broken, still the chance of some brighter skies if not some sunshine coming
01:36through, but certainly through the morning into the afternoon, you'll see an increase
01:39of cloud.
01:41Brighter skies for Northern England, southern Scotland, eastern Scotland, more clouds across
01:45the north-west Highlands and we'll see some brighter skies from time to time for Northern
01:49Ireland.
01:50Temperatures then rising quite nicely through the day away from the east coast exposed to
01:55that cool North Sea.
01:57So coming around 15, 16 degrees Celsius, 13 or 14 across the western side of Scotland
02:03as well as Northern Ireland.
02:04Here's your outlook through Thursday.
02:06Again a cold start with the chance of frost through the afternoon.
02:10Temperatures rising quite nicely with some sunshine and then slowly we'll see a change
02:14in direction of the wind and what that means.
02:16It will warm up along the east coast with some fine conditions into the weekend before
02:20more cloud arrives and some outbreaks of rain towards the north-west through Saturday and
02:24into Sunday.
02:25Bye bye.
