00:00Hello, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. As we go through this weekend
00:04for a lot of the country it's going to remain pretty similar to the week just gone, pretty
00:09cloudy but largely dry. So for the rest of Saturday, best of any brightness really over
00:14towards western Scotland but for a lot of the country plenty of cloud around but largely
00:19dry. Main risk of showers really up towards eastern England into eastern Scotland and
00:25the far north of Scotland too. Temperatures at best range in between 6 to 9 degrees but
00:30if you do live in the east especially that wind will just take the edge off the temperatures
00:35so feeling pretty chilly so you may well need to wrap up warmly if you are out and about.
00:40Into Saturday evening very little changes, best of any clearer skies over towards western
00:46Scotland at first. It may well turn a little bit clearer too for the far north east of
00:49Scotland as we go through the course of the night but for a lot of the country it will
00:53remain largely dry but rather cloudy but the cloud will act like a blanket this time
00:58of year so no problems with frost as we start Sunday morning with temperatures generally
01:02around 2 to 4 degrees in the south. You may just see a touch of frost where the skies
01:06are clearer up across the far north east of Scotland. And then Sunday itself for a good
01:12chunk of England and Wales a very similar day to Saturday but further north we are starting
01:16to see some colder air beginning to move in across Scotland so any showers that do start
01:21to fall here may well start to turn increasingly to sleet and snow especially across the high
01:25ground during Sunday. I'm hopeful we will see a little bit more unaware brightness though
01:30come the afternoon across southern Scotland maybe even Northern Ireland too but for many
01:35temperatures very similar to how we are going to be today so around 6 to 9 degrees across
01:40the country. And then into Sunday evening that area of cold air will sink its way further
01:46southwards introducing the risk of some further sleet and snow across northern and eastern
01:50parts of the country. And then middle of the week we will then start to see milder
01:54air begin to try to come in from the south west so that may well give the risk of some
01:59snow across some southern districts as we head into Wednesday. We will certainly firm
02:04up on that as we go towards the time but for the here and now we do have some warnings
02:08in force for Monday and Tuesday already chiefly for northern Scotland and down into north
02:14eastern England. So if you do have any travel plans in this part of the world as we start
02:18the early part of next week do keep up to date on the website or through our app and
02:23maybe also plan to allow some extra time for your journeys as there could just be some
02:27disruption courtesy of the snow and the ice. But we will keep you up to date on the story
02:32as we go through the next few days on our website, through our app or also through our
02:37various social media channels. But that's all from me for now. Bye for now.
