00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. As we go through the
00:03first week of April, we start off on a fairly dry and sunny note, but there will be some
00:08changes as we go through the course of the week. So here's the situation at the moment,
00:12we've got high pressure fairly in charge of the country, but as we go into the middle
00:15of the week, weather fronts start to work their way in from the west, probably not reaching
00:20the far south-east until Thursday. And then after that, there are signs that things will
00:24settle down again as we head towards the Easter weekend.
00:28Back to the here and now, however, best of sunshine probably across eastern areas and
00:33eventually into central parts too. Elsewhere, a good deal of cloud around and the cloud
00:37across Scotland actually will be thick enough at times to produce the odd spot of rain.
00:42Temperatures in the sunshine reaching 13, 14 degrees, so feeling fairly pleasant for
00:46the time of year. But if you live along the east coast, thanks to an easterly breeze,
00:51feeling fairly chilly, especially if the cloud lingers on.
00:55For the evening, for a lot of England and Wales, we'll see skies turn clear and the
01:00clearest skies then eventually working their way into Scotland as we go into the small
01:03hours of Monday. But for Northern Ireland, we'll hang on to the cloud here and thanks
01:07to a southerly breeze, temperatures probably not falling much lower than 5 to 6 degrees.
01:11But elsewhere, especially in the countryside, we will see a touch of frost as we start Monday
01:16morning. But for many, we start the day on a lovely note, could just see a few mist and
01:21fog patches initially, but they will quickly lift, leaving largely sunny skies across Scotland,
01:26England and Wales. But for Northern Ireland, we hang on to the cloud here, sunshine very
01:31limited, probably best of rich along the north coast from time to time, especially into the
01:36afternoon. But in the sunshine, temperatures reaching 13, 14, possibly even 15 degrees,
01:41but once again, along that eastern coast, feeling fairly chilly with highs only reaching
01:459 to 10 degrees.
01:48And having a look at Tuesday, very little change really across the country after another
01:52cold start to the day. Lots of sunshine around, especially for England and Wales and eastern
01:56Scotland. For Northern Ireland and eventually into western Scotland here, rather cloudy
02:01with some splashes of rain from time to time. But in the sunshine, again, highs reaching
02:0613, 14, possibly 15 degrees.
02:11And as we go through the rest of the week, as I mentioned, the rain across the west will
02:15spread its way eastwards. But you can find out more about that on our social media channels
02:19or on our website. But it's all from me for now. Take care.
